Hello friends. I’m getting back into the blogging groove this month after taking a very long break from blogging over the holidays. I was gone from the blogisphere for 3 whole weeks and boy, oh boy, did I miss it. But, it was a well needed break because now I’m back, full force, in my last semester of university. Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday, I was starting my first day of my first year of uni (see here) and now I’m three months away from graduating. It’s terrifying y’all. Never grow up, kids.
So, I’m obsessed with the whole“statement sleeve” trend going on this year. Tiered sleeves have become my favorite thing in life and I desperately need more. But for now, I have one sweater with large flared sleeves and it’s the best thing ever. I got this sweater at Forever 21 on Black Friday for like fifteen bucks and their quality really amazed me this time around. This is the softest, comfiest sweater I’ve ever touched or worn. It’s from the Contemporary line of Forever 21 which I wholeheartedly believe makes all the difference. But the real showstopper of this sweater is definitely the sleeves. They have three tiered ruffles that surprisingly add quite a bit of weight to the sweater. My arms are weighted down. And be careful when wearing this sweater at dinner and reaching across the table or else you’re gonna get a whole scoop of mashed potato in your sleeve.
Over top of my sweater, I wore my favorite Kit and Ace peacoat overtop with the sleeves peeking out for that pop of colour. Speaking of Kit and Ace though, I am horrified to announce that they are closing the location in my city.Like we have the world’s biggest mall (I don’t think that stat is accurate anymore) and yet I can’t have a Kit and Ace in it anymore? A single tear is rolling down my face as I type this. I am devastated. I loved that store. Their aesthetic was everything. And yes, I can still shop online but that’s not the point. What if I want to try something on? What if I need to return something in store? i just can’t anymore. Everything I love is being ripped away from me. And, end scene. The dramatics are done.
