  • Adulting While Wearing Business Clothes

Now that I’m three months away from graduating my BCom degree, I’ve begun to realize that I’m gonna have to invest in some adult business clothes. My ripped jeans and chunky knit sweaters aren’t gonna fly in the real world (or maybe they will if I can live out my dream of working for some sort of clothing/makeup company). So I’ve began to think about what I’m going to wear when I start my adult business job. And I believe this outfit is headed into that direction. Except for the coated, leather-like pants. Those aren’t very professional. Get your shit together, Taylor.

So let’s talk about my cute blouse. I used to hate the word ‘blouse’ because it sounds like something an old grandma would say. But I love old grandmas so now I love the word. Plus, this shirt really is a blouse. Or a top. Or a shirt. Moving on. So, it’s from eShakti which I’ve talked about plenty of times on the blog before, but I was super excited to work with them again to introduce their new fabric customization tool. As I’ve said before, eShakti is fully customizable clothing company where you can personalize the piece you order, changing everything from the exact measurements to neckline style, hem length and sleeve style! But recently, they’ve added in the option where you can pick the style of clothing item in addition to the fabric! For my top, I picked the Split Neck Crepe Top in the Deep Navy Multi Floral Print pattern! I absolutely love the fluttery sleeves and V-neck mandarin collar of the top paired in this beautiful, silky fabric! Very business-like, yeah?? But still very cute, yeah??

So, for the rest of the outfit, I’m wearing my normal Taylor staple pieces. Black coated denim. Camel coat. Pointed-toe Old Navy boots. It’s never gonna change, y’all. My style is here to stay. But, if you guys have any ideas for cute business outfits, I would love to hear/see them! That’s one of the things I’m most excited for when working in the business world. It’s going to give me a challenge to wear professional work attire while still trying to let my personal style shine through. And don’t you worry, I’ll be sure to share what I wear on ze blog once I do get a job (fingers crossed that’s sooner rather than later).
