I’ve SERIOUSLY been hiding under a rock for the past couple of years because I’ve never tried a single Kat Von D makeup item… until now. I’ve heard amazing things about her Lock-It Foundation and her Shade and Light Contour Palette and Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks and yet, I’ve never tried anything. But today, that is all going to change. Well, actually, I shouldn’t sound so dramatic when I say that (Me?! Dramatic?! Never!). I’m only trying one little thing from her her makeup line, but it’s a start for sure.
So Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss lipsticks have always been a popular part of her cosmetics line at Sephora because of the creamy formula and wide variety of shades. However, she recently relaunched the collection with a new and improved formula. She kept the original shades but updated them to the new formula as well as adding in some popular shades from her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range now in this Studded Kiss formula too! The result? A huge launch 40 new beautiful lipsticks! So how does this formula differ from her previous one? These new Studded Kiss lipsticks promise to be more creamy, more pigmented and last longer on the lips.
I received the shade, OG Lolita and it is possibly the most beautiful lipstick shade I’ve ever seen. I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I got it (peep it in this #ootd here). Lolita is one of Kat Von D’s most popular and loved shades and I can see why. It’s a mix between a dark nude and a burnt orange- like a coral based nude almost. It is absolutely stunning. it’s the perfect warm-toned lipstick to go with my warm-toned eye looks.
And the formula is absolutely perfect. I never got to try the old formula so I don’t have much to compare it to, but this formula is so creamy and comfortable on the lips but provides a super pigmented, matte finish. It does stay on the lips very well, but it will smudge off when drinking or eating. This is a cream lipstick, not a liquid lipstick, so that is to be expected! Overall, I was very impressed with the formula and I definitely want to try more shades from the range!
