As my hair has been growing longer, I’ve realized that it takes a lot more effort to make my hair look good and I actually need to use styling products. The logical thing to do would just be to cut my hair again into my long classic shoulder length‘bob’, but we all know I probably won’t do that for another year. I am the worstat getting regular haircuts. I just live a busy life, y’all. But luckily, KENRA sent me over some products from their line to try out and I’ve been really digging them! You can find the line at salons in Canada (If you’re in Edmonton like me, try Studio K in Ellerslie) or you can find them at Ulta in the States. Oh, how I wish we had Ulta in Canada. One day maybe.

So I hate to say it, but the Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner in the line is pretty basic. I wasn’t wowed by it. The packaging is boring, the scents aren’t anything special and my hair didn’t really feel any different after using it. However, it’s not like this shampoo and conditioner are bad by any means. They do their job well. They thoroughly cleansed my hair and left it feeling healthy and moisturized. So, if you aren’t too picky with your shampoo and conditioner, these will work just fine for you.

But, on a more positive note, I waswowed by the styling products in the Kenra range! The Volume Dry Shampoo is probably the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used. The scent isn’t too strong which I love because I can’t stand a strong smelling dry shampoo (which all of them seem to be). Plus, the spray is CLEAR. Halleleujah. There will be no white residue left on your roots with this one. Once you rub this into your hair and roots, it absorbs all the excess oil and leaves your hair looking super clean! Plus, it’s absolutely amazing at giving more volume to my hair, which is something I’m always in search of.

And speaking of volume, the Kenra Volume Mousse Extra gives me everything I’ve always wanted. To be honest, I’ve never really used a mousse before because I wasn’t too sure what exactly they were and how to use them. But this one I just apply throughout my damp hair and then blow-dry and style as usual and gives me so much extra volume. Plus, it has a good amount of hold to it so it keeps my curls in place all day (it promises 60hour hold, holy) without being stiff or sticky.

And for those days when I don’t want to curl my hair but I still want smooth and shiny hair, I use the Kenra Perfect Blowout Light Hold Styling Creme. This is a fantastic product as well. This is an all in one product. It does everything. I apply it through my damp hair before blow-drying and protects my hair from heat (up to 450°F). It also banishes any frizz from my hair and gives my strands a sleek and shiny finish. It also has a little bit of hold in it so it will keep your hair in place for up to 24 hours!
