  • Drowning in Layers

I bet you didn’t even think it was possible to wear this many layers in Vancouver but this girl is showing you how on ze blog today. As I stated in my last #ootd in Vancouver, it was really damn chilly. And that’s saying something from the girl who’s been accustomed to -20 degrees (celsius) all winter long. Why do I keep referring to myself in third person. Stop that, Taylor. Oh boy, there I go again.

This was the last day of my trip and I was feeling pretty sad to be leaving this city. These pictures were taken in Yaletown on the water and I was obsessed with the scenery around me. It’s the perfect combination of metro, big city livin’ with nature and beautiful views. You see those apartments behind me? Yeah that’s the dream, y’all. Any guesses on how much they cost? Me and my friends were trying to estimate but I have a feeling we were way under. I don’t even want to know the real answer. That’s too depressing.

Back to the layers business that’s going on over here. I needed a lot of layers this day. I was feeling tired and worn out and basically just wanted to be as comfy and warm as humanly possible. So I pulled out the one hoodie I brought with me (and the only hoodie I wear in public) and layered it over top of a graphic tee incase I got too hot (I didn’t, surprise, surprise). I then layered my black boucle wool coat over top. I kinda dug pairing the two together. It’s giving off that sporty chic vibe even though I’m definitely neither most days.

To go with that sporty chic look, I put on my new baseball cap that I actually bought from the Aritzia in Vancouver while I was there (which was kind of a mistake because Vancouver sales tax is HIGH. I should have just waited to buy it until I was back in Edmonton). I was having such a bad hair day with the wind and rain (and lil’ bit of snow) in Vancouver so a hat was definitely a necessity. And then to complete the sporty chicness, I wore my Nike Air Max Thea leather sneakers with a cute suede mini backpack because if that doesn’t scream tourist, I don’t know what does.
