  • Sporty Spice (ft. My Favorite Wooden Watch)

As soon as the hot weather hits here in Edmonton, my style automatically gets 20 times sportier. It’s correlated. But always remember: correlation does not equal causation (please tell me this was drilled into your head a thousands times in university too or else that joke makes zero sense). Anyways, I love adopting this more casual, sporty style in the summer. But let’s be honest, it’s only sporty because of the addition of these sneakers. The rest of my outfit is not the least bit sporty. But a girl can pretend, right?

My brother got me these sneakers all the way back in December for Christmas and I was very (not so) patiently waiting for the snow to melt and the sun to shine so I could pull them out from the depths of my closet and rock them without fear of them getting damaged from the snow or the mud. These are the Adidas Originals Gazelle Sneakers in the Ash Pearl shade (AKA dusty rose) and I’ve had my eyes on these for quite a while now. I have a very strong obsession with anything this dusty rose/ millennial pink colour so it was only fitting that I would have a pair of sneakers in this shade.

But the real star of this outfit is my new watch from JORD Wood Watches. Back in the day, I used to invest in a new watch everyday. I was the self proclaimed queen of watches. But throughout the past couple of years, I’ve dropped that title when I struggled to find watches that really caught my eye. But the watches from JORD are undeniably unique and gorgeous. They are all handcrafted and made from wood, resulting in an absolute beautiful piece. I was a little hesitant that these watches might feel cheap being made from wood but it was the exact opposite. These wooden watches have a high quality, heavy weight to them and they look so elegant and refined on the wrist. The style I ended up picking was the Cassia ebony & sable watchwhich features ametal and wood link interlaced band with a rounded case that features subtle gold roman numerals. It’s stunning to say the least. I love that you don’t immediately notice that it’s wooden but then when you look closer, it’s a nice little detail that sets it apart from all the other watches out there.
