Just a warning – this is going to be a long post because I have a lot to say about this line and how much it can benefit your post but keep reading, it’s a good one! I actually did a post on Matrix’s Biolage Line once before and I fell in love with the Uplift Shampoo and Conditioner (full review here)! For someone with a lot of fine hair that tends to fall flat throughout the day, this was the one shampoo and conditioner duo that actually added a ton of body to my hair without making it feel weighed down with product or dried it out too much. Because I was such a huge fan of the Matrix Biolage Uplift Shampoo and Conditioner, I couldn’t wait to see if I would fall in love with other products by the brand as well!
The other four products I got to try out in the Matrix Biolage R.A.W (real, authentic, wholesome) line are all styling products, which is something I’m definitely starting to use more and more when I’m doing my hair because they really make a difference. The Replenish Oil-Mist has olive, sunflower and borage oil, which you can use in a number of different ways. For really fine hair, you can just use this before you shampoo so your hair can soak up all the nutrients and oils but then wash it out so your hair isn’t weighed down by the oil. Or for all other hair types, you can use it on dry hair at night as a treatment or in damp hair before you style it. You can even mix it in with your conditioner in the shower to turn it into a more intensive mask! Lastly, you can also use it as a body oil! We love a multi-use product. The next product is a Smoothing Styling Milk that has honey and oat (and smells delicious). This product is super liquid-y which I love because once again, it’s not going to weigh down my hair! It’s perfect for smoothing and polishing your hair when blow-drying while also adding nourishment to the strands. The Texturizing Styling Spray is also a hit in my haircare routine. And it has matcha green tea in it which automatically makes it a thousand times better because y’all know much your girl loves her green tea. You can spray this on damp OR dry hair for separation and definition for touchable texture! It’s perfect for achieving those beachy waves! The last product is the Frizz Control Styling Spray that has lavender to smooth down any flyaways and gives light shaping and smoothing to your strands!
I also tried some styling products from Matrix as well, including the Style Link Style Fixer and the Texture Builder. The Style Fixer is a finishing hairspray with a #5 hold which is the maximum on the rating scale. Normally I tend to stay away from really strong hold hairsprays because they tend to make my hair sticky and weigh it down with all that product. However, this hairspray is super lightweight and has a dry finish so there’s no stickiness or tackiness in my strands. Plus it adds a nice amount of shine to my hair which I love! The Style Link Texture Builder is a messy finish spray aka a texturizing spray that has become a necessity in my haircare routine! I love using texturizing sprays when I curl my hair to separate the curls and give them more of a messy, natural look instead of that perfect, tight-curled hairdo. It’s also a great product to use in place of hairspray because it does have a decent amount of hold and it’s great at adding volume!
