I wrote about wanting to pick up this Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in my Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations and I actually followed through and bought it. And my lips have been so much happier ever since.
However, I have been hearing such mixed reviews on thislip mask. Some say it’s quickly become their holy grail product while others just say it’s an overpriced jar of Vaseline that really doesn’t do anything spectacular to their lips. Because there wasn’t a consensus on how truly awesome this product was, I was a bit scared to try it. My lips are the driest things in the world. It seriously looks like I’ve spent a lifetime in the desert if I don’t exfoliate them and moisturize them every hour. So, I really needed a lip product that was going to change my life. And to be honest, I didn’t think this product would do that for me.
But I should have had more faith in it because this is one good lip mask y’all. It comes in a 20 gram jar (which is a TON of product) with a little rubber spatula to smooth the product on your lips which I really appreciate. I hate having to dig my dirty little nails into jars. Hygiene is a good, good thing. And it has a lovely light berry scent that isn’t too overwhelming (I’m v picky about scents if you didn’t know).
But the real magic of this product isn’t the packaging or the scent. It’s the actual benefits I noticed after using it for only oneday. I smoothed a generous layer of this onto my lips before bed and when I woke up, I immediately noticed that my lips were smoother and softer. And then when I exfoliated my lips with a warm, damp towel (like I do every morning), every last bit of dry skin was buffed off my lips and I was left with the softest, smoothest, moisturized lips. And I didn’t even have to put on lip balm for that entire day. Usually I’m forced to put on lip balm about every hour (especially at work when I’m talking a ton) but I wasn’t even bothered by my lips that day. And after that, it just continued to get better. I now put this lip mask on every night religiously so that I can wake up with the most perfect lips the next morning.
