  • Dermablend Glow and Flawless Creator

My skin has been a rollercoaster lately. It has had so many ups and downs throughout the past couple of months. In April, as I was finishing my final year of my undergrad and writing my finals, my skin clearly felt the pressure and therefore, it decided to let it’s stress out in the form of angry little breakouts all over my chin and cheeks. It was not a good skin month for me. But luckily my skin is now on the mend and we’re in the process of getting it back to where it was when I was in a more relaxed, stress-free place. However, because my skin erupted in little breakouts, I needed to switch up my makeup routine a bit. I wanted more coverage but because the warmer months were headed my way, I also wanted a more lightweight feel on my skin. And luckily for me, the new Dermablend Flawless Creator Multi-Use Liquid Pigments ($40USD/$52CAD)fit that description.

These Liquid Pigments are incredibly versatile as a foundation. You can use just one drop all over your face for minimal coverage or build up to four drops for a full coverage look. Or, if you want to create your own tinted moisturizer or BB cream of sorts, you can mix these drops in with your favorite day cream to create a more natural,“no-makeup” look.

I was incredibly impressed with these pigment drops from the very first day I started using them. First of all, they’re oil-free so I have no fear of them making my face breakout. Secondly, they’re solightweight. All of the other“drop” foundations that I’ve tested out have been so heavy and thick on the face and just added too much cakiness to my skin. These Flawless Creator drops, however, are so light on the skin and blends in effortless to create a super natural look. I’m obsessed! The foundation is so silky and smooth and really helps to even and smooth my skin texture! The only thing with these pigments is that I found them to be a tad dry on my skin because I do have drier skin lately so I would just recommend layering a good moisturizer underneath so there’s no dry patches peaking through. And if you have oily skin, even better! These will work fab for you!

Dermablend also launched the Glow Creator Multi-Use Liquid Highlighters($33USD/$36CAD) at the same time as the Flawless Creator pigments. These highlighting drops come in two shades – Pearl and Gold. The pearl drops are more pink toned while the gold ones are, yep, gold. Similar to the foundation drops, this liquid highlighter can be used in a variety of different ways. You can mix them in with your moisturizer OR foundation for a subtle, all-over glow or for a strong highlight, you can dot them and blend over top of your makeup where you want more glow! But beware! A little goes a loooooong way. The first time I tried them out, I mixed two full drops in with my moisturizer and I looked like a disco ball. But then again, that ain’t a bad thing. And once I put makeup on over top of that base, it definitely just left a pretty, subtle shine to my face!
