  • Edging Up a T-Shirt Dress

There is something so freeing about wearing a dress in the hot, hot weather. I am convinced there is nothing comfier. Except, maybe pyjamas. Or being naked. That’s comfy too. But I can’t post either of those on the blog so here is my other comfy outfit: a t-shirt dress. Now, normally I just wear a t-shirt dress with a denim jacket (bonus points if it’s a white jean jacket) and sneakers. So comfy, so cute, what more could you want?

However, there are times when I want to look a little more stylish and put together than that. So, today, I incorporated a few more pieces to give myself a more edgy vibe. I used to call my style“edgy” all the time back in the day (sarcastically of course) but I’ve definitely been leaning towards the more girly and feminine side of things lately. So, I decided to go back to my roots and take on a more edgy look for the day.

I have been wanting to wear this Baker Boy hat more in the warmer weather. It’s super easy to style in the winter and fall with any type of jacket whether it be a leather jacket, wool coat or even a fur coat! However, styling it in summer outfits has proved to be a bit more challenging. You can’t just throw it on with a t-shirt and shorts. Actually.. maybe you could if it was a graphic tee and ripped denim? That could work. But anyways, my point is it just takes a bit more effort to work this type of hat into an outfit in the Summer.

So I decided to wear this leather vest overtop of the t-shirt dress to really edge up the outfit and make the Baker Boy hat fit in. I used to be obsessed with this leather vest back in the day. It was one of my favorite pieces and I’m definitely going to start wearing it more again. I then added some chunky black block heels from Steve Madden and voila! An edgy, comfy outfit. I’m a happy gal.
