    The Laneige Hydrating Trial Kit

Ever since I tried out Laneige’s infamous Lip Sleeping Mask (review here), I have been dyingto try out more of what Laneige has to offer in their skincare line. They were kind enough to hook me up for my Mexico trip with the cutest Trial Kit of little travel sized versions of some of their most popular products! Laneige makes two different versions of their Trial Kits. The one I’m featuring today is the Hydrating Trial Kit but they also make a Pore Care Trial Kit that is geared towards normal to oily skin!

The Hydrating Trial Kit couldn’t have been more perfect for my trip. Airplanes are infamous for wreaking havoc on your skin and my flight to the beautiful Puerto Vallarta was no exception. The minute I landed, my skin was making it clear it was very angry with me and the lack of hydration it got on that six hour flight. But as soon as I introduced this five step skincare routine, my skin forgave me instantly.

The Hydrating Trial Kit ($25USD/$32CAD) contains everything you need for a two-week (or shorter) vacation or if you just want to try out a few of Laneige’s products before you commit to the full sizes. The first step is the Moisturizing Foam Cleanser. This is a foaming cleanser that has shea butter in it so it’s incredibly moisturizing on the skin as well as removing any impurities! I’m super picky about my cleansers. I need them to be gentle on the skin without feeling like they’re stripping all the oils but they also need to make my face feel super duper clean. Luckily, this one does both. Next is theEssential Power Skin Toner for Normal to Dry Skin. I lovethis toner and I need to pick up the full size asap. First of all, it’s perfect for travel as it has a little stopper in the nozzle so it won’t leak in your suitcase (which has happened to me with other toners way too often). Second, it’s such a nice texture. It’s a little thicker than a normal watery toner but it absorbs into the skin beautifully. And as an extra bonus, it sells amazing! The third product is theWater Bank Essence. This essence promotes smoother, rehydrated skin by delivering six essential minerals (zinc, magnesium, manganese, potassium, calcium, and sodium) through it’s hydro ionized mineral water formulation! The Water Bank Moisture Cream is the fourth product and also contains this special hydro ionized mineral water as well as hyaluronic acid which is always my favorite ingredient in skincare because of how hydrating it is for the skin! This cream is super lightweight but still makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized so it was a dream to use in Mexico! The last product is one of Laneige’s most famous products: the Water Sleeping Mask. This is a lifesaver for any dry skin gal and if I had more confidence, you bet I would have been wearing this mask during the whole flight to Mexico and back.

I really enjoyed trying this little Trial Kit out because not only it was perfect for Mexico, but it also made me fall in love with an abundance of Laneige’s skincare products! Laneige also sent me a few other pieces in their line, including the Water Pocket Sheet Mask. As an avid sheet mask user, I was super excited to see if this one was any different from the more generic ones I always pick up from Innisfree and TheFaceShop. This is the Skin Relief mask (#1) and it has a couple of characteristics that set it apart from other sheet masks I’ve tried. First of all, it is densely woven and highly elastic, so it forms a protective film over skin, locking in active ingredients AND it’s non-slip(!!!). One of my biggest frustrations with sleep masks is that fact that they never seem to stay on my face but tis one was stress-free and stayed on my face for the full twenty minutes. Second, it contains calming cypress tree extract so it’s incredibly soothing on the skin! If I had of gotten a sun burn on my face, I can only imagine how heavenly this mask would have felt (but luckily my face stayed sunburn-free thanks to my constant sunscreen application). Third, the there are diamond water pockets in the mask that release the cypress tree essence slowly, for long-lasting, maximum impact! That’s some special technology y’all.

I am also in the process of trying out the Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel but since I didn’t take that one to Mexico, I will do a whole separate review on it later this month!
