  • New Launches from Clarins:Pore Control Serum and Mission Perfection Eye

I have said it before and I will say it again. Clarins is (and probably always will be) my favorite skincare line. They have proven time and time again, with every new launch, that I will effortlessly fall in love with all of their products. (I wish I could say the same about boys). Clarins recently came out with not one but two new skincare products for the Fall! And no surprise here but I love them both.

The first is the Pore Control Serum ($55USD/$58CAD). This is a really cool product. Why’s that Taylor? A pore-minimizing serum ain’t nothin’ new. Well, well, well this one is. Usually I stay away from pore-minimizing serums because they’re made for oily skin. Oily skin = big pores. Well, technicallythis serum is made for oily/combination skin as well. But, there’s one big difference. While most pore minimizing serums’ goal is to make the skin as matte as possible, the Pore Control Serum has a subtle matte finish but also strives to bring radiance back into the skin. And y’all know I love some radiant-lookin’ skin. And although I don’t have large pores (at least I don’t think I do, I have bigger fish to fry in the bad skin department), I love the way this serum makes my skin look. It has a pearlized, blurring effect to mask the pores but also evens out any texture on the skin to make it baby-bum velvety smooth. In addition, this serum contains tamarind pulp acids help to eliminate any dead skin cells to refine and smooth the skin’s texture.

The other new product from Clarins is the Mission Perfection Eye Cream which is part of the Mission Perfection line (no duh Tay). The Mission Perfect Serum has been one of my go-to’s for dark spot (AKA acne mark) fading ever since it came out two years ago (original review here). Two years later and four bottles later, I’m definitely a devoted fan so when I heard they were releasing an eye cream in the Mission Perfection line, I was definitely pumped to give it a go. First of all, it has the same great scent as the serum so if that’s not already a reason to run out and buy it, I have nothing else to say to convince you. Just kidding, you bet I do.

So I have to be honest. I’m not the best about using an eye cream every day. I pat myself on the back if I remember to slap one on a couple times a week at best. But, like the lil’ beauty expert I am, I know how important eye creams are so I’m really trying to get myself into the routine of using one every day and night! And now that I have this fun, good smelling lil’ guy, I am definitely closer to accomplishing that goal. This Mission Perfection Eye Cream does a couple of different things. For starters, the acerola extract, a vitamin C extract visibly minimizes brown dark circles for brighter, younger-looking eyes. BUT it doesn’t stop there. Brown dark circles are the only type. There’s also blue dark circles that are caused by lack of stress and fatigue. And guys, I am experiencing A LOT of stress and fatigue so you best believe my dark circles are on the blue side of the spectrum. So this serum contains Escin from horse chestnut to fight the appearance of blue dark circles so eyes look rested and radiant! In addition, this serum contains Clarins’ “High-Lumitech” complex which is a tinted formula that instantly illuminates eye contours. When I first put this eye cream on, it looked super dark and I was worried that it wouldn’t blend into my pasty skin, but do not fear! After gently patting it in, it blended right in so it’s definitely suitable for all skin tones. Also I love the packaging of this eye cream. It’s so handy to apply it with the squeezy tube and attached brush that fits into the contours of my eyes instead of having to stick my germy lil’ fingers into a jar. OH, and I almost forgot to mention this eye cream has SPF15 which is extremely rare to see any amount of sun protection in an eye product so I’m ecstatic about that!
