  • Hard Candy – Glitter Edition

With the holidays coming up just around the corner, there is no better time for glitter. Actually, scratch that. Every time is a good time for glitter. And Hard Candy sure loves their glitter. Therefore, I love them. It seems every collection they come out with involves a heavy use of metallics, shimmer and glitter and it definitely adds a good amount of fun back into my makeup. I can’t wait to use some of these products on New Year’s Eve this year. I honestly think I just love NYE so much because it allows me to experiment and do something different with my makeup AKA cram as much glitter as I possibly can onto my face.

The first product we’re gonna be talking about today are the Glitteratzi Liquid Sparklers. These are so much fun because they’re so versatile. They are an all-over glitter topcoat that can be applied to eyes, lips, or anywhere else! They’re similar in texture to the ever popular Stila Glitter & Glow Eyeshadows however at $6 (USD), they’re a fraction of the price. They come in a wide variety of colours as well. Aurora is a shimmer white, Star is the most gorgeous gold-y bronze and Twinkle is a light silvery pink. Although these can be used anywhere on your face, I love patting them in the center of my eyelid with different eyeshadow looks for that extra (but still subtle) pop of glitter! They also work great on the lower lashline as a pretty glitter eyeliner! And it’s good to know that the glitter doesn’t flake off throughout the day as I have noticed that with other glitter shadows. These stay all day!

But the glitter doesn’t stop there. Oh no it doesn’t. I also love some good shimmery eyeshadows. This palette from Hard Candy is so cute and little with 6 gorgeous metallic shades that are perfect for the holidays. There’s four neturals with some sparkly taupes and beiges but there’s also a super pretty cranberry red color that just screams Christmas! The shadows aren’t too pigmented but they blended out easily and overall, created a nice eye look!

And it’s definitely not enough just to have glitter on the eyes either. You need a shimmery face for the holiday which is where these beautiful baked highlighters come in. This is the Just Glow! Baked Highlighting Trio which comes with three varying shades to create a poppin’ highlight on your cheekbones. There’s a super pale white shimmer, a warm gold highlighter and a gorgeous pink shimmery one! The gold highlighter is a little too dark on my pale skin but would look awesome on anyone darker than me or if I had a tan! But the pink highlighter is where the real magic lies. All my life I have been looking for the perfect shimmery blush but blushes with any sort shimmer or glitter are surprisingly hard to find. I am just so sick of matte blushes. I want a nice subtle glow all along my cheeks. So when I saw this gorgeous trio of highlighters, I immediately knew that I was going to use the pink shade as a blush and boy oh boy, does it work great as a blush!
