  • Esqido Mink Lashes

Believe it or not, in the 7-ish years I’ve been blogging, I have never talked about false eye lashes on ze blog. But this post couldn’t have come at a better time. With Christmas and New Year’s Eve right around the corner, there is no better time than now to start thinking about how you’re going to be doing your makeup for all the festivities and for many of you, that’s going to involve pullin’ out all the stops including false lashes.

Although I haven’t worn false lashes in years (crazy, I know), I am quite the expert on them. Growing up as a competitive dancer, false lashes were second nature to me. I became such a pro at applying them (and ripping them off). But when I left the dance world, I also left behind false lashes. But lemme tell you something, these lashes are a distant relative from the ones I wore back in the ol’ days.

Esqido lashes are handcrafted with 100% premium mink hair (however, if that’s not your thang, they also have synthetic lashes that are equally as beautiful). If that doesn’t scream bougie, I don’t know what does. They look nothing like the $6 plastic-y fake lashes I used to wear for my dance competitions. In addition to the beautiful mink hairs, they have a soft, flexible cotton band that lays perfectly against your lash line. There’s no stiff band that gives away the fact your lashes aren’t real. But what I love most about these lashes is how natural they are. There is nothing I hate more than looking like you have a fuzzy caterpillar attached to your eye and these definitely don’t give that effect.

Both of the styles I got to try out are medium volume pairs but Esqido also offers light volume and full volume lashes! I was blessed with extremely long lashes so although I don’t really need false lashes, it’s nice to have a little bit more volume as my hairs tend to be quite fine. Thus, the medium volume lashes are a great compliment to my natural lashes. The first pair are the BFF lashes($29USD), one of Esqido’s best sellers. They’re 8-12mm long and to put it simply, they are stunning. I actually gasped when I opened these for the first time. They are so perfectly curled and look so natural. Esqido suggests they’re the perfect bridal lashes so for all you brides to be, these are the ones you want. The second pair is the Oh So Sweet lashes($29USD). These are quite similar to the BFF pair, however they are a little shorter at 6-10mm long and they have a bit more criss-crossing of the strands, making for a cute, flirty fluttery effect. You can flutter your lashes at all the boys with these ones!

In addition to their stunning lashes, Esqido also makes their own glue, the Companion Eyelash Glue($10USD).This glue is extremely strong with a sticky hold yet when it comes time to remove your lashes, they come off effortlessly without pulling off any hairs (real or fake). The thin brush applicator on it also makes applying it a breeze even for those not as experienced with applying fake lashes! Plus it’s latex free and it dries clear! What more could you want!

Stay tuned to my instagram (whenimolderblog) for photos of me wearing these lashes during the upcoming holidays!
