Okay, so, we’re going to jump into a story right off the bat here. I was sitting with my friends at OJ’s and we were playing a game where my friends had to guess the prices of everything I was wearing. Weird game, right? We’re weird people. We also regularly do IG live’s for no good reason. Someone needs to take my phone away from me. Anyways, so my friends were guessing the prices of all my clothing and it made me realize something. I was wearing a $70 t-shirt with an $11 bomber. That’s such a huge variance in prices. What made me pay $70 for a shirt when I was able to get a bomber for $11? It’s because I tend to splurge on basics but since I have way too many “trendy” clothes, I often feel too guilty buying more pieces that I might only wear a couple of times. So, if there is a trendy piece that I really want, I tend to wait until it goes on sale and then it kind of justifies me buying it, y’know?

So I’ve had my eye on this jacket for almost a year now. A year. A whole year. So why didn’t I just buy it the second I saw it and loved it? Well, it’s from Forever 21 and it was originally $39.90 CAD. Although that’s not a huge amount of money, I knew that it wasn’t the best quality nor was it a style I was guaranteed to wear a bunch. So, I kept waiting and waiting and waiting until Forever 21 had an additional 50% off clearance sale and I got this jacket for nine bucks (Plus I used Ebates and earned an additional 2.5% cash back – sign up here). Wow. That’s less than I spend on lunch most days. So, I figured there was really no harm in buying the jacket.

(side note on the jacket: If you want to buy this jacket for as cheap as I did, it’s still in stock but F21 is no longer having their additional 50% off clearance sale however I would highly recommend signing up for their emails so you are notified next time they do so you too can get this jacket for nine freaking dollars. Wow was that ever a run-on sentence. I’m out of breath just writing that. English teachers everywhere are cringing.)

And I’m so glad I did buy this jacket because it has very quickly become one of my favorite things in my closet for this season. It’s a light wool/cotton houndstooth fabric in a cropped style and has these amazing matte black buttons. I love that it has that denim jacket style and shape but the fabric makes it a little more dressy. Therefore, I can easily wear it with jeans and a t-shirt but I have also dressed it up by wearing it with black dress pants and my patent leather boots for work. Easy Peasy. Lemon Squeezy.

I went with a very monochrome look with this jacket by pairing it with silver loafers and some silver jewelry including this amazing watch from Nordgreen. I previously mentioned this watch in this ootd but I still want to do a full post on how much I love it! It’s such a minimalist style with the simple silver face and I love how I can easily swap the straps on it to match any outfit! It’s a great everyday watch. Stay tuned for my full post featuring it! (I know, I know, I’ve been procrastinating).
