  • Testing Out All of NYX’s Liquid Lipsticks!

GUYS. I am so behind on the Nyx bandwagon. Their Soft Matte Lip Creams practically invented matte liquid lipsticks back in the day. And since then, they’ve continued to come out with many more inventive lip products! So there’s no better time than now to review some of my favorite lippies from Nyx!

NYX Lip Lingerie Shimmer – #03 Bare With Me ($10.49CAD/$7.50USD)

The original matte Lip Lingeries from NYX used to be my absolute favorite liquid lipstick a couple years ago (back when I could stand the feeling of dry lips) so I was super excited to see that they’ve since come out with a shimmer version (as well as a gloss version AND a glitter version). It has the same consistency as the original ones but it’s a little more sheer with a hint of shimmer thrown in. It also has a slightly glossy finish that dries down eventually. The shade, #03 Bare With Me is the most gorgeous nude with a pink undertone making it a very wearable colour for me!

NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte – #29 Mauve Mist ($9.99CAD/$7.50USD)

I have to admit I really can’t get on this whole metallic lip trend. Whenever I am wearing a metallic lipstick, I feel like I’m one of those metal statue street performers. Do you know what I’m talking about? No? Okay, moving on. This shade, #29 Mauve Mist, is slightly more wearable than most metallic lipsticks so I actually do quite like the colour. It’s looks like a dark nudey rose gold on me. The only problem with these Liquid Suedes is I do find them to be the most drying out of all of NYX’s liquid lipsticks. But nothing a lip scrub and good lip balm can’t fix.

    NYX Glitter Goals – #04 Reflector ($12.49CAD/$8.99USD)

So we talked about metallic lipsticks earlier and now this is a full on glitter liquid lipstick. It’s such a statement lip. It has quite big flecks of glitter in the brightest magenta pink base. The NYX Glitter Goals liquid lipsticks come in some really bold shades like navy, dark purple and a cool gunmetal grey! Definitely for someone who wants a bold lip (aka not me)!

NYX Candy Stick – #01 Sugarcoated Kiss ($8.49CAD/$6.50USD)

So, this is the one lip product from NYX that I’m not in love with. I’m not sure if it’s the shade or just the formula, but it’s so patchy on me. It has the texture of a very slippery, thin lip gloss. It’s described as being a glowy lip colour which basically sums it up. It would be super pretty I think but it just goes so streaky on my lips! I can never get an even coating.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – #14 Zurich ($9.49CAD/$6.50USD)

Ah, saving the OG liquid lipstick for last. If you’ve never tried the Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX, they’re basically as their name would suggest. They have a velvety, mousse-y texture that results in a beautiful matte finish on the lips without being too drying on the lips. And because of that, they don’t dry down completely but they definitely have some good lasting power on the lips. And this shade, #14 Zurich, is one of the best pinky nudes I have ever found!

Oomph, that was a lot of lipsticks. My favorites would definitely have to be the Soft Matte Lip Creams or the Lip Lingeries (both the OG formula and the new shimmer formula). The others don’t have a permanent place in my heart unfortunately. Which NYX lippies are your favorites?
