  • InfluenceHer Essentials Kit – Summer Edition

There are few things that I truly look forward to in a year. Christmas, my birthday, the first day of Summer and… the InfluenceHer Essentials Boxes that arrive on my doorstep four times a year. I’m not even trying to be funny (good, cause you ain’t funny). I genuinely can’t wait to receive my box every season and this Summer was no different. As soon as June rolled around, I was tracking the shipping on FedEx to find out when my box would arrive. And the minute it got to my house, I was ripping it open to explore it’s contents. So let’s take a look what I got (I think it might be the best box yet)!

    Crayola Take Note!

My whole life I’ve had this thing for stationary. I think it’s because as a kid I would always sneak into my dad’s office that was stocked with every Post-It Note and marker imaginable and I would steal them all to create my various DIY’s and art projects. And still, to this day, there’s very little that gets me more excited than a set of 30 markers. Crayola recently came out with this Take Note! range full of new pens and markers. I received a set of their permanent markers that are rivaling another permanent marker brand (that I’m sure we’re all aware of) but these are in much funner colours and I’m livin’ for it. This pack contains 24 shades like Spice of Life (a burnt orange) and Saffron-And-On (a mustard yellow). How fun are those colours?! I also received their double ended Highlighter Pens that are, yup you guessed it, a highlighter on one end and a pen on the other with 2 different shades! And once again, the colours are so pretty!

    Kensington Publishing Summer Suspense Books

I am the biggest bookworm there is. I’m that girl who is reading a book on the bus, on the subway, on her lunch break, you get the idea. I remember when I worked at Shoppers, I would always read a book on my breaks and my coworkers would walk into the staff room asking if I was still in school. When I told them that I had graduated, they were so puzzled to why I was reading. But luckily, thanks to this suspense/mystery genre made famous by books like Gone Girl and The Woman in Cabin 10, more and more people are starting to read books again and I couldn’t be happier. In my box, I received three suspense books from Kensington Publishing. I actually had Paranoid by Lisa Jackson on the waitlist at the library (I think there’s like 50 people ahead of me still) so I was pumped to see I got this one! I can’t wait to dig into these!

Kat Von D Beauty Mascara & Liner

No curated lifestyle box is complete without some sort of beauty or makeup item so I was super excited to see that this InfluenceHer Essentials Kit contained some new makeup from Kat Von D. This is the Go Big Or Go Home Mascara ($23USD/$30CAD) and the Ultra Ink Liner ($20USD/$27CAD). Because I’m a beauty blogger, you already know I can’t fit in a whole mascara and eyeliner review into this paragraph so I’ve made the smart decision to dedicate a whole other blog post to my thoughts on these items! So stay tuned for that! But, if you’re impatient and you don’t feel like waiting around, here is the tldr version: the GBOGH mascara has a fat brush that coats my lashes evenly and provides a ton of volume but can be a lil’ clumpy if you’re not careful. The Ultra Ink Liner has a super precise, fine tip that allows me to draw the perfect wing but I’m finding the tip dries out really quickly. I will keep y’all posted in my review.

Carefree Liners and Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths

One thing that I haven’t talked a huge amount about on my blog are feminine hygiene products. You won’t find a review of a Diva Cup or vaginal wash on my blog (except for this tampon post from five years ago lmao). And that’s only because I really don’t experiment with new products too much in that area. I like what I like and I stick to that. But if there’s one thing I appreciate getting in a lifestyle box like the InfluenceHer Kit, it’s feminine products because that shit’s expensive. These Carefree Acti-Fresh liners are super thin and have odor control so you can feel fresh all day long. And on especially sweaty days or during your time of the month, these Summer’s Eve Fresh Cycle Cleansing Cloths really come in handy (they’re also pH balanced so they’re not going to irritate anything down there). I always like to keep a couple of these in my purse to have on hand. Is that TMI? Oh well. Moving on.

    Her Campus hcxo.shop Tumbler

The last item in my box was probably my favorite. Or a close tie with all the other things in there. I am actually drinking out of this tumbler as I type out this post. So, I’ve been trying desperately to drink more water. Everyone says that is the secret to weight loss and if it’s something as simple as that, I’m down for it. But I find that I really struggle to drink water out of a water bottle. I just don’t reach for it when I’m at my desk and concentrating. But, if there’s water in a cup and there’s a straw, I will constantly be sipping on it throughout the day. So thank you to the hcxo.shop for helping me drink more water (and hopefully lose 10 pounds). Plus how cute is this cup?! Sip Sip Hooray! That couldn’t be cuter.

I think what I love about InfluenceHer Essentials Kits is that I genuinely use each and every single thing that I receive in these boxes. There’s never anything that I’m not excited about. They are so well curated with things that are useful or fun! I love it!
