Life has been crazy busy lately. It’s been getting harder and harder to find time for ze blog most days and that makes me so sad. I seriously don’t get how some people juggle a full time job, a blog AND they have kids. If I had little babies running around, I would be getting NOTHING done. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not going to be pregnant anytime soon.
But even though I don’t have kiddos yet, I do have a dog that acts very much like a needy baby at time. Oakley is now seven (where has time gone?!) and I swear he’s getting more badly behaved with age. Or maybe he’s just fed up with my shit. Afterall, I do make him sit beside me week after week as we take these outfit photos. But I can’t help it. He’s just such a lil’ model.
You know what the best thing about having a dog is?
How everyday, without fail, the second you walk in the door when you get home from work, they come running and they act like they haven’t seen you in years. Just so much excitement bundled up into the cutest, fluffiest body. If that can’t turn even the worst day into a good one then I don’t know what can. Oakley is something special, y’all.
Wow we are getting sidetracked today. I almost forgot we were writing an outfit post, not an Oakley feature post. So, my outfit. It’s… okay. Summer just isn’t my favorite season for fashion. I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again. My style just gets a little too basic, a little too casual in the summer. I revert to jeans, t-shirts and sneakers in the hot weather. It’s just easy. If only I could find cute dresses and skirts to dress up my wardrobe. But that never happens. Instead I just buy my millionth plain white tee.
Speaking of plain white tees, I just bought this new t-shirt from the huge Zara sale going on right now. But this isn’t just a plain white tee. Oh, no. It ain’t. It has this ruched midsection that gives a lil’ definition to my waist and makes it more of a cropped length. But the reason why I love it so much is because the ruched part makes it perfect for tucking into high waisted pants. The ruched part tucks into all of my dress pants for work and helps it stay tucked in. It’s genius. And the t-shirt looks super cute untucked as well. It’s just a great white tee. Oh and did I mention it’s on sale for $9.99CAD right now? I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I just added TWO more to my cart online. You can never have enough white t-shirts.
In addition to this t-shirt, I also picked up this denim jacket from the Zara sale as well. It’s… okay. Wow, I’m having that reaction about a lot of things today. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a super cute denim jacket. It’s yellow, it has fun pockets and snap buttons, it has a nice cropped length. But it just doesn’t excite me. I wear it and I’m like “oh great, a jacket to keep me warm”. It’s not “oh my God, I can’t live without this jacket”. And honestly, everything should have the second reaction, not the first. Life is too short to not be excited by everything you wear. Life is too short for boring clothes.
