Okay, this summer is FLYING by. How is it already the middle of July?! That’s shocking to me. I think it’s because this is my first summer that isn’t sandwiched between 8 months of school. I have now been working full time for a year. It doesn’t even feel like a summer break. I guess that’s because it’s not actually a summer break. Huh. Funny how that works. It kinda sucks not being a student and getting a summer break. I don’t get that little break from responsibility where I can relax for four months. But I guess that means I’m officially an adult, right?

And although summer seems like it’s over before it even started thanks to all this rain and cold we’ve been getting here in Edmonton, I’ve been having an absolute blast this summer. I guess it’s really true that time flies when you’re having fun. Wow, I’m really insightful today (*insert eye roll here*). I just booked a trip to San Francisco for August as well as a trip to Vancouver in November to see my favorite singer, Julia Michaels. I booked two trips in a week. Who am I?! A fun person. That’s who.

And I think my outfit today totally ecompasses that. Doesn’t this outfit just scream that I’m a fun person? Yeah. That’s what I thought. So I was shopping in Simons the other day and I saw these Levi jeans (style: Ribcage Straight Ankle). Now, I’ve never owned a pair of Levi’s before but when I saw these were marked down from $120 to $19.99, I decided to try them on for fun. They were not my style and I definitely wasn’t expecting to love them. However, I slipped them on and I was shocked at how much I actually liked them. They are a wide straight leg jean in a light wash with framed hems and a tie belt. That’s a lot going on in a single pair of jeans. But they’re a lot of fun. My parents and brother were not a fan of them but I just love how different they are from any other pair of denim that I own. They’re just fun, OKAY?

I kept the rest of my outfit simple so not compete with my super fun jeans. I’m wearing my favorite white t-shirt from Zara (that I’m still waiting to go even more on sale so I can buy 10 of them. I’m not even exaggerating right now. As soon as they go on sale for $5.99, I’m buying TEN). I’m also wearing a light, loose knit cardigan over the t-shirt from Aerie. I LOVE this cardigan. I’ve owned it for as long as I can remember. Maybe since grade 10. Maybe longer. It’s just such a cute knit and it has yet to go out of style! For shoes, I’m wearing my beloved Vans that were a collab with J.Crew back in the day with this houndstooth print. Vans and Levi’s. I’m a cool chick. What can I say? (Yes, that was sarcasm).
