I got back from San Francisco almost a month ago and I’m just getting around to posting some pictures of my outfits that I wore down there. As I mentioned in my previous San Francisco Outfit post, it was so much hotter there than I thought it would be me. I was expecting some cooler, windier days but what I got was a humid, hot mess. What a coincidence- my hair is also a hot, humid mess in all of these photos. How fun! Such a great look for me.

One thing that I was very thankful for packing was this dress that I picked up from Aritzia just for this trip. It’s a midi length shirt dress with buttons all down it and long slits on the side. Because it’s super lightweight and it has short sleeves, it is such a nice dress for super hot days. The slits allow for a great deal of airflow and it’s just the ultimate easy breezy outfit. I always thought midi length skirts and dresses were not flattering on me but I find when I pair them with the right things, I can make them work for my body type. For this dress, I found adding a belt to cinch in the dress at my waist was absolutely essential to making this dress a little more flattering. And, I absolutely love how cute this cheetah print belt looks with the mustard yellow color. You already know that cheetah print and mustard yellow is my favorite combination ever.

But although I made this dress very casual for this day at the Stanford campus (which was AMAZING by the way, such a beautiful campus), I have also found ways to dress it up. I’ve worn this dress to work multiple times and I find that I can wear it with heels and a blazer and suddenly it becomes the perfect work dress (that is also super comfy). I love that. It’s such a versatile dress and now that I’m out of school and have a full time job, that’s definitely the kind of clothes I need in my life.

Because I was walking around a ton in San Francisco and the bay area, I opted for sneakers with this dress. I love that “cool girl” look of sneakers with a dress. That’s definitely one of my favorite trends right now. These are the Adidas Originals Sleek sneaker and out of all the white sneakers I’ve ever owned (there’s been a lot), these have got to be my favorite. They’re comfy, sleek (hence the name) and they match absolutely everything. They’re not too chunky and not too slim. They’re like if the Adidas Stan Smith and the Common Projects Achilles sneaker had a baby. Ya feel?
