One of my favorite things about visiting San Francisco was getting to go on a winery tour (and seeing my bestie, Erin, of course). Before visiting these wineries in Sonoma and Napa Valley, I really only drank one kind of wine and that was Moscato. Just hand me the sweetest white wine ever and I would happily drink it but hand me red wine and I would spit it in your face. Just kidding. Red wine stains. I wouldn’t dare. But after doing a million wine tastings (and getting very drunk in the process), I grew to love red wine. I am now an adult. Hip hip hooray. Sip sip hooray.
On this particular day in San Francisco (and the bay area), not only were we touring wineries but we were also visiting Alcatraz! I was super excited to see Alcatraz Island (for those who don’t now, Alcatraz was a former high-security prison from the 30’s to the 60’s). Even though I’ve visited San Fran in the past, I’ve never gotten to take a your to the island because it books up so damn fast. But luckily, I was able to snag a spot this time around. Because I was visiting both wineries and Alcatraz that day, I knew I had to pick my outfit wisely. I needed something that was cute enough to sip wine in but would also keep me warm in case it was a windy day on the ocean.
So, I went with this midi length snakeskin skirt from Simons. I love the light material as it ended up being so hot in Sonoma. I made it quite casual by adding my favorite Adidas Sleek sneakers and a white denim jacket. If you read this outfit post here, you can see how I dress up this same skirt for work with some heeled sandals and a blazer. It’s a very versatile skirt! AND I didn’t spill a single drop of red wine on it so can we all give me a round of applause for that? Honestly, a miracle.
