  • Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer

It’s been so long since we’ve talked about hair on ze blog. Way too long. We’re at that point in the year where my hair is way too long but we’re procrastinating on cutting it. As you all probably know by now, I cut my hair once a year. My hair grows super fast and then, at the end of year, I chop it all off to around shoulder length. But we haven’t quite gotten to that point yet. I am so lazy with going to a salon and getting my haircut so I am just going to keep delaying it for as long as possible. And thus, my hair is just way too long right now and a tad annoying.

Because I have such fine hair, when it gets long, it loses what already little volume it had. I try to blow dry my hair upside down everytime I wash it to get some volume at the roots but it’s a struggle. So, when I saw that Revlon had launched this new One Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer ($59.99USD/$64.97CAD), I was so excited to give it a try. Would it be the answer to all of my hair problems? Well you better read on and let’s see!

So this product is no ordinary hair dryer. It is comprised of a round, oval brush with both nylon pin and tufted bristles that help to both detangle and improve volume. It has 3 heat settings (High, Low, & Cool) and has a built-in ION generator so it helps to dry hair super fast while reducing any heat-related damage. It promises to produce smooth blowouts in up to half the time of a regular round brush plus hair dryer combo!

And although I DO love this product, I don’t use it in the conventional way that it’s supposed to be used. I find that the best way to use it (for me) is that I still blow dry my hair upside down with a regular hair dryer (I use the Conair Soft Touch Hair Dryer) until my hair is maybe 70% to 80% dry. And then, I use this Revlon Hair Dryer/Volumizer as more of a styling product. This is great to use as a finishing last step. It dries that last 30% of my hair but it also does an amazing job at smoothing and straightening my hair. My hair naturally dries with a little bit of frizz and a wave to it, but when I use this hair dryer as the last step, it takes all the frizz away and leaves my hair so smooth and silky and straight! I don’t think I have ever felt my hair so soft! I don’t even need to use a straightener anymore!

As for volume, I find that this product gives me a little bit of volume because I am able to use it right at the roots, but it’s nothing crazy! When I would use a straightener to straighten my hair, I found it really flattened my hair so I like using the Revlon Hair Dryer in the sense that it doesn’t do that. It keeps what little natural volume I have. So yes, I am a fan. A big fan.
