Okay okay okay, I know I went on a whole rant on my last outfit post (read here) about how the cold weather in December ain’t so bad because you have the magic of Christmas right around the corner. Well folks, I was wrong. Yep, I said it. I was WRONG. The only time I have ever been wrong. It’s a rare occurrence. But the truth of the matter is that I can’t stand the cold weather right now. Every year when winter rolls around, I deeply question why I live in Edmonton. Why do I want to live somewhere that is so cold for more than half the year? That ain’t fun. If my next outfit post takes place in Hawaii, don’t be alarmed. It just means I’ve finally came to my senses and moved away from this horrible place.
But alas, for the time being, I am stuck in Edmonton and I will just have to try to survive. Part of my will to survive is finding both cute and warm clothes to wear in these six months of winter. I recently got this super fuzzy, furry jacket from the Black Friday sale at Zara. Zara had a crazy Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale this year! Usually they do 30% off the whole store but this year they decided to change it up a lil’ by doing 50% off select pieces. Now, usually when stores do a sale on select pieces, they only mark down last season’s items that haven’t sold all year, but that was not the case with Zara. I think they had like 2500 items on sale (AKA pretty much the entire store) so you bet I picked up quite a few items!
I actually filmed a try-on haul video of all the items I picked up from the Zara Black Friday sale but let me tell ya, there’s a reason I’m a blogger and not a vlogger. Videos just aren’t my thing. This one turned out very blurry and unfocused with poor audio but nonetheless, that video will be going live on my blog either this week or next so stay tuned for that and try to keep your insults to a minimum. Seriously, it ain’t great. So, for those of you who probably won’t watch the video, let me just reiterate my thoughts about this jacket here. So this jacket was around $80 regular price so with the Black Friday sale, I got it for $40 which I thought was a steal. It is seriously the softest thing that I have ever felt and I just love the green khaki colour and the hood. The hood is just so oversized and floppy. It’s great.
Underneath this jacket, I’m wearing a hoodie I recently picked up from H&M that was also part of their Black Friday shopping (yes, I did do a lot of Black Friday shopping, okay). It’s part of their Pringle of Scotland collaboration and it’s a super cozy, warm fine knit hoodie with a cinched waist and dolman sleeves. The cuffs feature cute dark grey and neon yellow/chartreuse striping and there’s a hood as well! We’re just doubling up on hoods, y’all. This is the perfect hoodie. It’s a little more dressy than your typical cotton oversized hoodie but it’s still warm and comfy! I have a feeling I will be living in this all christmas break! Aah, who am I kidding? It’s not even Christmas yet and I’ve already been wearing it 24/7.
