  • I Still Believe: The Most Romantic Movie of 2020

    I Still Believe Movie Review

You know those hypothetical games you always play with your boyfriend? Where you turn to him and ask if he would still like you if you were bald or if you gained weight or if you spouted a million new pimples? Would he still be with you if you crashed your car and was in a coma for months? Or what if you decided to move halfway across the world? You question how unconditional and true their love really is. Or is that just me? Is that just a sign that I might overthink things a little too much? But what about if you got diagnosed with cancer? Would he still stand by your side or would he give up on you?

Well, I Still Believe really puts that last question to the test. But it also turns into something so much more than that. The story behind this movie really proves that there is always hope and love in the midst of tragedy. I Still Believe is a modern day love story featuring Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, Shania Twain and Gary Sinise. From the creators of I Can Only Imagine comes an inspiring movie based on the real-life story of chart-topping singer, Jeremy Camp and serves as a sign that faith tested is the only faith worth sharing. If you’ve ever needed a reminder that both love and faith are extremely resilient, this movie is that.

I was so exciting to watch the advanced screening of this movie with my boyfriend. I personally love a good romantic movie and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed a couple of tears. And by couple of tears, I mean I full-on bawled my eyes out. I don’t know what is with me lately but I cry at everything. Happy things, sad things, scary things, neutral things. Everything. It’s a problem. But, if you’re like me and you secretly love a good cry, then this movie won’t disappoint. And that fact that it’s a true story, that’s just gonna make you cry even harder. But make sure you take your boyfriend or your best gal pal with you so they can comfort you while the tears stream down your face. It ain’t fun to cry alone. It really ain’t.

On a lighter note, my only complaint about the movie would be the fact that Shania Twain didn’t have a bigger role or even a song in the movie. We all need some more Shania Twain in our lives. Just imagine the movie with Up! or Man! I Feel Like A Woman! playing in the background. Instantly better, right? 😉
