I have a feeling this will be my last normal-ish outfit post on ze blog. I took these photos right before COVID-19 really hit down here in Edmonton and I could still leave my house, go to work and hang with friends. But ever since these photos were taken, I’ve been working from home and generally, living from home, as I’m sure the majority of you have been as well. But at least there’s one good thing about being suck at home and that is I can finally get caught up on ze blog again! Hip hip hooray!
My outfit is all about the accessories today. I find that there are certain outfits that it’s accessories just make or break it and this is definitely one of those. Take off the accessories and the outfit is just meh, ya feel? But before we talk about where all my accessories are from, let’s talk about the base of the outfit. My blazer is from Aritzia and it’s one of my favorite style of blazers. It’s called the Cherrelle blazer and it’s truly the best fit. It’s a loose, oversized blazer so it makes it so easy to either dress it down or up. I can wear it casually like today or wear it to work. That is always essential and what I look for in all of the pieces that I buy. It’s in this gorgeous sage green colour which you will soon see is the theme of this outfit today. Speaking of green, this blazer was just released in the most gorgeous pistachio colour as well which I need to get my hands on ASAP.
Underneath the blazer, I wore a ribbed black turtleneck (surprise, surprise, when am I not wearing a black turtleneck) with distressed dark grey jeans from Citizens of Humanity. For shoes, I am wearing Frank and Oak pointed toe chelsea boots because, again, when am I not wearing black boots? Whenever I am wearing an outfit more heavy on accessories, I almost always start with a crisp all-black or all-white base outfit. Can’t be too overwhelming now.
Okay, finally on to what you all have been waiting for: the accessories! Let’s start with my bag. My best friends, Vanessa and Erin, got me this tote for my 25th birthday a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t be more in love with it. It’s from Oak and Fort and I have always seen it in a bunch of colours and eyed it but never bought it. But when Vanessa saw it in this sage green colour that perfectly matches my Cherrelle blazer, she knew I would love it. And boy oh boy, was she right. It’s such a nice change from all of my smaller crossbody purses and I have been carrying it everywhere (which is not many places due to social isolation) lately.
The rest of my accessories consist of these adorable pearl clustered hoop earrings that Vanessa and Erin also got me for my birthday. I am quite the fiend for statement earrings but I have also been needing some more subtle, classic earrings and these hoops are the perfect combination. I have worn them almost everyday as they match everything! They are truly the best everyday earring! My last accessory is this fun headband from Anthropologie! I absolutely love headbands but I’ve been having so much trouble finding ones that actually fit my head as I truly have the world’s smallest head. But luckily this one fits and it’s hella cute with the ruffled floral fabric. Here’s to more headbands (hopefully) in 2020!
