Okay, take one guess. Just take one guess what my favorite colour is right now. I’ll give you a hint. It starts with pis and ends with tachio. Ding, ding ding! You’re right. Pistachio. The most glorious green shade ever created. Side note: Tachio would be the cutest name for a lil’ pup. If I somehow buy a dog in the next couple of weeks, don’t even be surprised if his name is Tachio. Anyways, over the past couple of months, I have started the process of switching everything in my closet over to this shade of green. It pains me that winter is near because how I am going to wear pistachio when there’s snow on the ground? Pistachio clothing is for sunshine and butterflies, not blizzards and hibernation.

But, as I mentioned in my last outfit post, we have been having surprisingly nice weather in Edmonton. The temperature is still in the double digits which is unheard of for the first week of October. I hope I’m not jinxing anything by saying that. If it starts snowing next week, you know who to blame. (Me. Just blame me. Everything is my fault).

I feel like I am the epitome of spring in this outfit. Lavender and pistachio in the SAME outfit? That should be illegal. It’s just too cute, y’all. I am not usually one for color blocking or wearing two colours together in the outfit (what can I say, I’m a tame gal) but pistachio is almost a neutral colour to me now. It all started when I got this pistachio purse from Matt and Nat. It’s actually in the Mojito shade but we all know it’s actually pistachio. C’mon Matt and Nat, get on the bandwagon here. But I digress, this is the perfect purse. Aside from the beautiful coloured (faux) leather, it features a front flap with magnetic snap closure, accordion gussets, 12 card slots, 4 bill compartments, and a middle zipper coin pocket. It’s tiny yet practical and functional. And thus, I have started wearing it with every single outfit. So now it’s just ingrained in my head that pistachio goes with everything. Therefore, pistachio is now a neutral. I don’t make the rules. I just abide by them.

And where there’s one pistachio colored clothing item, you best believe there’s another. That’s where these pants come in. I originally spotted them at Zara and they were on an extreme clearance price for $12.99. I was already trying on a bunch of stuff so I added them to my pile. I thought they looked absolutely atrocious on the hanger but I just couldn’t ignore the colour. Typical. And lo and behold when I tried them on, I didn’t hate them. I actually (gasp) liked them. A lot. They’re a pleated, wide-leg trouser with a matching pistachio woven belt. I LOVE when pants include belts. It’s such a fantastic 2-in-1. I now have a pistachio belt to match all my other pistachio thangs. How fun is that? Very fun.

To complete this look, I am wearing my L’Intervalle white leather mules. I got these shoes at the beginning of quarantine and I’ve worn them a grand total of two times. Yup. That’s what COVID has done to my style (made it non-existent). They’re super cute though and I hope to wear them a ton next summer! But for now, they will be packed up in their shoebox and stored away until the snow comes and goes. Let’s just all cross our fingers that this pandemic will be gone by then. I honestly don’t think it will be.
