  • A Galentine’s Gift Guide

    Valentine's Day Gift Guide

In a perfect world this post would have been up way before Valentine’s Day but yet, here we are, two full weeks after V Day. But you know what they say- better late than never. And I can assure you that this post is indeed better late than never.

This whole COVID-19 pandemic has been really tough on all the relationships in my life. Between numerous FaceTime calls, Zoom calls, texting and the rare socially-distanced hangouts, it has definitely put pressure on making sure I put substantial effort into my friendships. As a natural extrovert, I was so used to just hanging out with my friends every night and not having to worry about being a “good friend”. But now these are the worries that keep me awake at night. I now have to make sure I am regularly checking in with my friends or else I could go weeks without talking to them. This pandemic is really turning me into an introvert. That’s scary, y’all.

And so, as Galentine’s Day rolled around this year, I knew I wanted needed to get the special gals in my life something that showed them how much they truly mean to me and also serve as a lil’ pick-me-up because we definitely all need some of that right now. And so even though Galentine’s Day is over by the time you’re reading this post, let this serve as a reminder that everyday should be Galentine’s Day and it’s never a bad time to give your best gal pals a gift to tell them you love them! My goodness, Galentine’s Day has made me sappy.

    Drinks & Treats

For the first part of this Galentine’s gift package, I included the cutest BFF mug (from Shoppers Drug Mart) with a Betty Crocker Brownie Mug Cake mix. Can we just take a second to talk about how good these mug cakes are? I’m obsessed. They have definitely been my guilty quarantine pleasure, but I ain’t mad about it. I also included this cute lil’ bottle of Sangria (because it perfectly matched the colour scheme, I love a good Valentine’s aesthetic). This brand of Sangria is one of my favorites and is very reminiscent of all the times I used to go to Earls with my gal pals to get drunk off Sangria. It’s very nostalgic.

    Chocolate, Chocolate, & More Chocolate

Is it really Galentine’s Day without chocolate. No. The answer is, and always will be, no. For this Galentine’s Day gift box, I went with three different types of chocolate: chocolate cookies, Lava Cake Hershey Kisses and a Cookies and Cream chocolate bar. There is no such thing as too much chocolate, I promise you.

    Love is Self Care

Self care is also a fundamental part of Galentine’s Day and coupled with all the stress of this pandemic, there has never been a better time to show yourself some love. So, I included this set of four heart-shaped bath bombs in a yummy, romantic rose vanilla scent as well as the cutest ‘I Love You’ candle, both from my favorite store, Homesense. I have been loving taking long bubble baths with candles flickering in the background to help me relax. And it wouldn’t be 2021 if I didn’t include a cute Valentine’s Day themed hand sanitizer as well. This one is from Bath and Body Works in the Sweet Sugar Sprinkles scent (it indeed smells very sweet and sugary).

    Valentine's Day Gift Guide

So that’s everything I included in my 2021 Galentine’s Day Gift Boxes! These were so much fun to put together and it was so nice to see how happy my friends looked when I surprised them! It really is the little things that mean a lot in life and are helping me get through this pandemic! Should I make this a tradition and gift Galentine’s Day goodies every year? I think so.
