The title really does say it all. This is yet another Kristin Ess haircare post where I basically just fangirl both over her and her wonderful, lovely, magical products. I feel pretty confident that I’ve now tried almost every product in Kristin Ess’ line (except the ones that are not for my hair type obvi) and there has yet to be one that I haven’t loved. Honestly, thank goodness for her and her brand. My hair is immensely grateful for it’s newfound health (we also have to attribute that to the Dyson Airwrap as well, my other holy grail). 2021 really has been the year of good hair!

So, this isn’t just a haircare review today. Oh no, it is so much more than that. It is also a hair accessories post. I know, I know, try to contain your excitement. We’re really branching out on ze blog today. But before we get into the accessories, we do have to talk about this mask first. This is the Reconstructive Moisture Mask ($17.99CAD/$14USD) from Kristin Ess and it’s quite possibly the best mask I’ve ever tried. But don’t just take my word for it. I also let my mom try it and although she is the bougiest, pickiest woman when it comes to all things beauty (maybe that’s where I get it from), she even loved this mask! If that doesn’t sell you on it, I don’t know what will.

There’s one thing that I really love about this mask. It has slip. What exactly does that mean, you may ask? Well, you know how most hair masks are really thick and it’s so hard to get them evenly distributed in your hair when you’re in the shower and your hair is wet? I’m sure you all know exactly what I’m talking about. This mask is simply just not like those other masks. It has this slip that makes it so easy to run it through your hair and ensure that every strand is coated. The mask is incredibly softening and detangling, but not heavy so it’s perfect for fine hair like mine (however, it is suitable for all hair types). And it’s amazing for adding moisture and nourishment back into the hair. To put it bluntly, it’s just the perfect hair mask. That’s really all I can say about it. Just take my (and my mama’s) word for it.

Okay, now onto the fun stuff (not that the mask wasn’t fun). Truth be told, this post was originally meant to go up in March of 2021. But your gal took a lil bit of an (extended) blogging break and this post is now being written seven months later. But, as my boss said, I have to be easier on myself and set more realistic, achievable goals. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. We will blog when we can. And when we can’t, we won’t. It’s that simple folks. So although this post is coming out way after Kristin Ess’ accessories line was first launched back in March, we’re going with the motto that it’s better late than never, okay?

I have such a special place in my heart for hair accessories. I know that might be a weird obsession to have but I just think hair accessories are so fun and they really should be more trendy and popular than they are. I want all the scrunchies, all the headbands and all the hair pins in my life. And so, when Kristin Ess came out with her own line of hair accessories, I knew it was game over for me and I wouldn’t be happy until I owned the whole collection (I swear I’m not materialistic). To start with, I picked up the Tortoise Setting Clips ($10.99CAD/$10USD) and the Gold Celestial Bobby Pins ($10.99CAD/$8USD). Both styles are so high quality and beautiful for the affordable price. The Setting Clips are so fun because they serve two purposes. First, they are simply both stylish and cute. But second, they’re also still functional setting clips meaning you can use them to set curtain bangs while they cool, control cowlicks, tame flyaways, and set waves. We love a two-in-one product. The Celestial Bobby Pins, on the hand, while they’re not a two-in-one product, they are insanely beautiful. They’re a gold tone metal with sparkly crystal embellishments. I love just adding a couple of these to my hair when I’m feeling like my outfit is hella boring and my jewelry just isn’t cutting it. These pins are like jewelry for your hair and y’all know I like the sounds of that.
