I am such a perfume girly, yet I rarely write about them on ze blog because I find it is just so dang hard to describe a fragrance to someone who might have never smelled it before. Plus, fragrances are highly subjective. There are so many perfumes I personally can not stand and I am positive there is going to be at least a couple people reading this post thinking I have the worst taste smell in scents. But, regardless of all that, there are a couple of scents that I have been absolutely loving lately and I feel it is my duty to share them on ze blog with you. You’re welcome.

Let’s talk about the Louis Vuitton Attrape-Rêves perfume ($370CAD/100ml) first as this is easily my favorite fragrance of all time. I receive this scent almost exactly a year ago and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. It’s the most perfect combination of cocoa, peony and litchi with a subtle hint of rose. It’s sweet and floral and fruity. It’s the ultimate girly girl perfume which explains my fascination with it. There will truly never be another fragrance as good as this one. The nice thing about this perfume is that when I use it all up (which will be probably be sooner rather than later at this rate), I can bring the empty bottle back to any Louis Vuitton store and get it refilled at a reduced price (thank goodness because this perfume is an expensive one).

Next is the Replica Lazy Sunday Morning eau de toilette ($202CAD/100ml). This is such a unique scent and at first glance sniff, you might question if this is really a “Taylor” perfume. It was created to evoke the sense of waking up to the sun’s morning rays and celebrate the joy of sleeping in. Well, I do love waking up to the sun as well as sleeping in, so it does seem like the description fits me quite well. It’s quite the delicate and sheer fragrance that doesn’t quite smell like a perfume. You know when you give someone a hug and they just smell like them, not a perfume? It’s a very distinct smell and that is what this perfume smells like. It could easily be mistaken as someone’s laundry detergent or the lingering smell of their body wash. And that is why this perfume is reserved usually for my lazy days or weekend mornings (wow, just like the name would suggest!). Oh, and I guess I should mention the key notes in this fragrance- Lily of the Valley, Iris, and White Musk, which lends themselves nicely to both the freshness but also warmth of this scent!

This third scent is very quickly becoming possibly my favorite perfume of all time. The Kilian Angels Share ($60CAD/7.5ml, $295CAD/50ml) eau de parfum is absolute perfection. It is a very sweet and warm perfume. The best way I can describe is simply by relating it to how apple pie smells straight out of the oven. Now, take that scent and mix it with a glass of cognac at Christmas time. That is how this perfume smells. The more technical description would be that it’s key notes are cognac, tonka bean, praline and oak wood but I think my depiction is much better; wouldn’t you agree?

The last perfume of this post is the Dior Miss Dior Rose N’Roses Eau de Toilette ($175CAD/100ml). Now, I must say I’m not a floral perfume type of gal. In fact, I might even go as far as saying I can’t stand floral perfumes. They just smell so old and too stuffy for my liking. But, if there’s one floral scent I like, it’s roses. I love anything rose scented so it’s only fitting that I would love the Roses N’Roses variation of the classic Miss Dior perfume. It’s a stunning fragrance that is fresh and florally but also a little powdery thanks to the white musk accord. The key notes of Grasse and Damascus rose absolutes and essences are also brightened by both bergamot as well as mandarin. If you like receiving dozens and dozens of roses, you will like this fragrance. I promise you.
