There is just something so relaxing and luxurious about using a nice body wash in the shower. Now, don’t get me wrong- a normal Dove or Native (my other fave!) body wash certainly does the job, but there’s nothing that really compares to the feeling of using a higher end body wash for that ultimate spa-like experience. Maybe I’m overhyping it in my head, but I swear it’s the little things that make all the difference!

And today’s post is all about one of my favorite luxury body wash lines- Nécessaire! I have actually been using Nécessaire’s Eucalyptus Body Wash for quite some time now (we’re talking years), so I was super excited when they finally expanded the line and added three new scents. However, what’s cool about the lineup is that it’s not just the scents that differ, it’s also the benefits of each body wash. Each one uses different active ingredients to offer different results!

So, let’s start with the tried and true Eucalyptus Body Wash ($38CAD/250ml, $17CAD/100ml). I love a good eucalyptus scent and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. It has pure eucalyptus oil, in addition to fragrance notes of Siberian Fir, lavender and ginger, so I find it’s super calming and relaxing when taking a hot shower. It also contains lipid-rich carrier oils that have high levels of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as omega-6 and -9 to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. And lastly, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) helps to support and balance the skin’s protective barrier.

Now, as good as the Eucalyptus scent is, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Nécessaire Santal Body Wash ($38CAD/$28USD). This scent is heavenly. It uses pure sandalwood oil, combined with fragrance notes of black pepper, jasmine, and iris to create a yummy, comforting, musky scent. It’s the perfect fall and winter body wash in my opinion. And, like it’s Eucalyptus brother, it also contains Niacinamide to support the skin’s barrier. But, that’s not all. It also uses liquid epsom salts to restore any depleted, weakened skin as well as a trio of magnesium, zinc, and silica to replenish any of the skin’s essential nutrients.

But, if you’re looking for something a little bit more exfoliating and renewing, you might want to check out the Nécessaire Hinoki Body Wash ($38CAD/$28USD). This one uses gentle acids like AHA, BHA, and PHA to exfoliate and soften the skin, while Resveratrol, an antioxidant, helps to soothe the skin. Any uneven texture (think ingrowns or KP) will be softened and smoothed. And the scent is nothing to be ignored. It contains cedar oil, along with notes of citrone, basil and vetiver to calm and refresh.

And, now, that brings us to the last (but certainly not least) scent in the collection: the Nécessaire Olibanum Body Wash ($38CAD/$28USD). This body wash contains Vitamin C to fade any dark spots and brighten the skin while enzymes (bromelain, papain, and superoxide) help to add radiance. The scent is a sweeter, floral scent with olibanaum oil (adds some woodiness and depth) along with vanilla, fig leaf and cassis buds.

And there we have it! A scent and a body wash for any mood and any skin type. I love that Nécessaire provides not only different scent options but different ingredients for whatever your skin might be craving at the moment. I especially love a collection like this for someone who experiences all four seasons and might need something more nourishing in the winter and something more renewing in the summer!
