A couple (seven) months ago, I posted about the Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush Liquid Blush ($58CAD/$39USD) and it was a raving review. I wholeheartedly love that blush and I didn’t think it could get any better until I tried it’s counterpart- the Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush POWDER Blush ($61CAD/$45USD). It comes in most of the same shades as the liquid blush, but this time in a gorgeous 24 hour buildable powder blush formula. And the compact! Oh my! The quilted top with the gold YSL monogram is just too pretty to even comprehend. I love YSL makeup, I really do.

Now, away from the packaging and onto the actual blushes. I received these in two shades: 44 Nude Lavalliere and 57 Coral Clash. The Nude Lavalliere colour is SO pretty and actually the same shade as my Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush Liquid Blush– a gorgeous dusty pink that is more cool toned, but with one major difference (in addition to it being powder instead of liquid). It actually has a satin finish so it has a bit of shimmer and shine packed into the formulation. I always love a more glowy blush so this finish is perfect for me! The Coral Clash shade on the other hand has an equally beautiful but creamy matte finish that blends effortless into the skin. It’s quite a bright, pigmented colour so you definitely have to go in with a light hand when applying this blush. But other than that, it’s absolutely stunning.

I think one of the nicest thing about these blushes is the staying power. As the name would suggest, these Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush have extremely good lasting power. I mean, I’ve never put them to the test and worn this blush for 24 hours straight but they definitely don’t have any problem staying on my face for a 8 hour work day (plus a couple of hours on either end of that). And what’s even better is that they contain Squalane to blur any imperfections and pores on the cheek while Rosehip oil ensures these blushes never leave the skin looking dry. They’re just such pretty blushes- inside and out.
