One thing that I don’t talk nearly enough about on ze blog is my love of reading. Reading is probably one of my biggest hobbies and is what I truly love to do in my free time. There’s just nothing better than getting into bed after a long day and cracking open a new book (or my Kindle in this case). Kindle? Case? What’s that I hear? Well, there’s no better way to segue into talking about this amazing Kindle case. So, before I jump into talking about my favorite books of 2025, I want to first let you know all about my favorite Kindle case at the moment.
A good Kindle case is hard to find. I got my Kindle in November of 2024 (I was very late to the Kindle bandwagon), and in less than a year and a half, I have gone through four Kindle cases. Some peeled, some had poor magnets, and some just weren’t as functional as I would have liked. They just weren’t doing what I needed them to do. They needed to be durable, with an attached hand strap and a magnet strong enough to keep them open or closed. And they had to be cute. That’s always a nonnegotiable. And this one from Lash Next Door fits the bill perfectly. The case I’m holding above is the Hummingbird Haven Kindle Case ($39USD) in the Kindle Basic (11th/12th generation) size, and it’s so good. It features the cutest vintage hummingbird print in colours that perfectly complement my matcha Kindle. It has both a hand strap as well as a stand, which is absolutely crucial for anyone who reads as much as I do. And because it also has a strong magnetic closure, it stays open when holding it with the hand strap and automatically wakes or puts your device to sleep when it’s opened or closed. Functionality. Very important.
And when a Kindle case is that good, you can’t just have one. I also got the same case in the Holly Jolly print because I needed to be prepared for Christmas. One of my favourite times to read is during Christmas (I just love a good cheesy holiday romance), and my Kindle case needed to reflect that. So, now I have my dream cases for both the spring and winter seasons. I guess that just means I need a fall and summer case now too!

So now that we’ve established what my favourite Kindle case is, we must now shift the focus to the best books of 2025. I read 176 books in 2025 (a little crazy, I know) and I’ve managed to narrow down my favourites to just 15 of them. And warning, these are all fiction books. I felt it was only fair to stick to one genre. You can’t be comparing a self-help book to a romantasy. That just doesn’t work. It was so hard narrowing down my favourites, but I really just tried to pick the books whose plots have lingered in my mind all year. These are the books I just can’t stop thinking about and would gladly erase my memory of them just to read them all over again.
