I have always been scared of incorporating color in my eyeshadow looks. But since I’m in such a festive mood, I have been wearing more and more green eyeshadow! Plus, my eyes are green so I like to think it makes my eyes look extra pretty. Here’s a way to wear some color without going overboard and looking like the Grinch who stole Christmas! Onwards!

1. Prime your eyelids. Nobody likes eyeshadow creasing throughout the day. I love the Benefit Lemon Aid Eyelid Primer.

2. This step is optional but I love adding a base to make the color pop. I used Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP.

3. Apply a neutral color all over the lid like this one from L\’oreal (“Because I’m Worth It” That’s the shade name by the way. But I am worth it.)

4. Take a light green (stay away from those neons though!) and lightly blend it in the crease (from inner eye to outer). I used the green in the Smashbox Trio in Develop.

5. Next, mix a taupe color and a slightly darker green (you can go darker depending on your skin tone. I’m pasty sooo..) and blend into your outer crease and outer third of your eyelid to darken it up a bit. I used Rimmel’s Backstage and Quo’s Minerals Matter quad in Eco You.

6. Now you need some highlighting! Gotta make those eyes sparkle! Any cream shadow will do but I used the one in the Quo quad. Apply that color to your inner corner and underneath the brow bone. For extra sparkle, apply it to the center of your eyelids.

7. Lastly, line your eyes. I went for a more subtle look as I took this deep forest green (Be a Bombshell in Money Money) and applied it to my upper lashline with an angled liner brush.

8. Add a few coats of mascara and rock that eyeshadow girl!
