Off the shoulder dresses and tops- otherwise known as Bardot tops- are possibly the biggest trend this summer. Every single online store (I have no time to actually go shopping) I have looked at has had an abundance of them. Zara’s shirt stock is seriously 50% off the shoulder items. It’s an epidemic. And of course, I had to jump on this trend and join the bandwagon.
I spotted this off the shoulder dress at Forever 21 a few weeks back when I was shopping with my girl, Niki (otherwise known as Niki Shoppers). I wasn’t originally looking for an off the shoulder item. But, Niki had just purchased the cutest black one at Loft, so when I got distracted by this beautiful rusty orange colour I thought why not. I have been so obsessed with this shade lately. Out of the six new Spring items I bought for my closet, three of them are this colour. I’m usually not a fan of orange, but I feel like this particular rust shade makes me look a little tan which is usually an impossible feat.
For accessories, I kept it pretty plain. I added a gunmetal choker with a snakeskin wrap bracelet as my only jewelry. I also wore my (extremely beat-up) gunmetal strappy sandals. I have worn these sandals every day, every summer for 8 (!) years now and they have yet to fall apart. It’s amazing. I also carried my beloved Marc Jacobs purse. She will always be such a beauty.
