Yes, I know that the last thing I needed right now was another palette, but this was one I could seriously not pass up. Stila recently launched a collection of four new palettes that are specially designed for skin tones instead of colour shades. Finally there is a palette that compliments my pasty white skin. And if you were blessed enough to not have as pale skin me, there are three other palettes to choose from! I wish I had darker skin just so that I could wear either the medium/tan one or the tan/deep one. The bronze and rusty colours are so gorgeous! But worry not, even if you have lighter skin, you can choose a palette deeper than your skin tone for a more dramatic look!
Each of the palettes come with two cheek shades and five eyeshadows. The Fair/Light Palette that I picked up comes with mostly matte eyeshadows. There’s a gorgeous pink called Alluring that will make the perfect base, a beautiful cream for a highlight called Breathtaking, a dusty mauve for the crease called Dynamic and a deep brown liner shade called Glamourous. The onIy non-matte shade is the super shimmery light gold shadow called Passionate. It is definitely one of the reasons why I was so enticed to buy this palette. I wouldn’t have been sad if this palette didn’t contain that last dark shade. I always find myself leaving them untouched. But being happy with four out of the fives shades definitely isn’t bad for me.
The two blushes included in the palette are absolutely gorgeous as well. There’s an extremely pale pink and a darker (but not too dark) rosy pink. On first glance, I thought that the lighter pink would even be too pale on me, but it is the perfect Spring shade! I have nothing else like it. It just brightens up my whole face. The two blushes are even great to layer together. I love to apply the darker pink on my cheeks and then layer on the light pink closer to my cheekbones as a subtle highlight! I really wish Stila had never discontinued their powder blushes because these formulas are so great! Hopefully, they are planning to reintroduce some individual powder blushes sometime soon!
In the majority of my palettes, a large percentage of shades in them often remain untouched because they aren’t suited for my skin tone. Usually about half of a typical eyeshadow palette are darker shades which I rarely reach for. I am so excited that this palette focuses on the lighter side of the spectrum and I know that I will use each and every shade in this palette!
