A Mustard Yellow Aesthetic

Okay, before we jump into talking about this outfit, I got a bone to pick with all y’all. So a little over a week ago, I posted this outfit. It was a full on cheetah print outfit. We’re talking head-to-toe cheetah print. It was also posted on April 1st. Otherwise known as April Fools Day. So, I thought you would have connected the fact that a head to toe cheetah print outfit posted on April Fools Day might be a prank that I was playing on you. I even said “Oh, by the way, happy April Fools’ Day” at the bottom of that post. And yet, not a single one of you realized that it was a joke. Instead I got comments on that post like “GIRL i am LOVING This look ha i could never pull it off the way you do but it literally is AMAZING!” and “Wow this is a BOLD look! You can truly handle this, and it makes your skin glow and pop as well!”. Are you guys kidding me?! You really think I’d wear that outfit in a serious manner? Maybe that’s a compliment that I’m secretly a lot more high fashion than I thought. Yeah, let’s pretend that’s the case.

Anyways, let’s start off April with an outfit that is a little less high fashion and doesn’t involve a single cheetah printed item. As I’ve said before, my wardrobe basically consists of two things. Cheetah print and mustard yellow (with a hint of dusty rose and burnt orange thrown in on a good day). And I’m definitely not mad about that. Mustard yellow and cheetah print are just my new aesthetic (also, aesthetic is so overused and I’m a little over that word).

I picked up this mustard yellow velvet bomber from Frank and Oak when I was in Vancouver this past winter and it was love at first sight. Velvet? Mustard yellow? Bomber? What more could I want? It’s such a great piece for the start of spring where you need a little bit of warmth in the morning but then you’re on the verge of overheating by the end of the day. Underneath the bomber, I layered yet another mustard yellow item in the form of this t-shirt that is also from Frank and Oak. Can you tell that I’m obsessed with mustard yellow yet? If you’re just figuring that out now, I am disappointed in you. The majority of my outfits on ze blog feature at least something that’s mustard yellow.

As for the rest of my outfit, I’ve stepped back into my casual, slightly sporty spring style. I am wearing my Citizens of Humanity Liya jeans with my Gucci belt (it’s a stunner, I know) and my grey Converse sneakers. These sneakers are very quickly becoming my favorite spring shoe. And to match with the grey on my sneakers, I am wearing my new watch from Nordgreen with the 36mm Silver Native face and the grey leather strap. I will be doing a full post featuring this watch because it’s so darn cute but for now, enjoy these lil’ sneak peeks.

Hahaha – I saw your cheetah print outfit for April Fools and thought it was so funny; but, I could see why people thought you’d wear it because you looked so confident in it! I love this jacket by the way!

That is such a fun bomber, I love everything about it. I have the same converse but in slate grey, I love the metal on the end of the strings and the fact the rubber matches the shoe.
