I love Vitamin C and for good reason. Vitamin C is most commonly associated with brightening the skin. And as lovely as that sounds, it doesn’t full sum up the benefits it provides in your skincare. Because it’s an antioxidant, it fights harmful toxins that come in contact with your skin (i.e. air pollution) and is exceptional at minimizing signs of skin damage, such as dark spots, dry skin, and dullness. And, it helps to stimulate the skin’s production of collagen, which in turn increases the skin’s firmness and elasticity, while keeping it plump and hydrated. See! Vitamin C really can do it all.

As beloved as Vitamin C in skincare is, it can sometimes be hard to find the right product for you. Vitamin C comes in many shapes and forms and in combination with other active ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ferulic acid. And so, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite Vitamin C skincare products to share with you all!

Let’s talk about serums first. Serums are my favorite way to incorporate Vitamin C into my skincare routine. This Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Vitamin C Serum ($63.95CAD) contains a whopping 15% Pure Vitamin C, as well as Vitamin E and pure hyaluronic acid. The Vitamin C provides brightening while the Vitamin E helps to prevent dullness and the hyaluronic acid smooths fine lines and wrinkles while hydrating for a healthy glow. It is also formulated with Vichy Volcanic Water to strengthen and soothe the skin. This serum is almost more of a Booster style product in terms of consistency. It’s quite liquidy, but you can apply a couple of drops directly to the skin once daily.

If you are looking for a more typical serum texture, you might want to opt for the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum ($35USD) instead. It has a lovely lightweight, non-oily texture that absorbs nicely into the skin. I love using this one as my morning serum because it works so nicely with applying makeup overtop. It contains a lower dosage of Vitamin C than some of the others featured on this post so if you have more sensitive skin, this serum is the one for you! It’s blend of Madecassoside (helps to soothe and calm irritated skin), Sodium Hyaluronate (derivative of hyaluronic acid), and citrus (lemon, mandarin orange and grapefruit) fruit extract helps to improve pigmentation, increase skin smoothness, improve skin tone uniformity while tightening and firming the skin.

This Dear, Klairs serum is also available in more of a Booster style product with a higher percentage of Vitamin C. Containing 5% Vitamin C, the Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop ($23USD) is much more potent that it’s serum counterpart. It’s formulated with stabilized pure Vitamin C to to treat dead skin cells, dull skin tone and enlarged pores. It’s known to slow down early skin aging, prevent sun damages, and improve the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots. Because it is more concentrated than a Vitamin C serum, if you find this booster is a little too much for you sensitive skin, you can mix a couple drops of this in with your night moisturizer instead!

Continuing on the Booster train, there is also the Paula’s Choice C15 Super Booster ($76CAD/$55USD). This one is quite the powerhouse with a blend of 15% stabilized vitamin C, ferulic acid, ergothioneine, vitamin E and skin-smoothing peptides. Once again, you can apply a couple of drops directly to your skin, or for more sensitive skin, mix it in with your favorite moisturizer. The 15% Vitamin C helps targets dullness and uneven tone for a firmer, more radiant complexion, while the addition of ergothioneine boosts efficacy for quicker results. The Ferulic Acid also defends against discoloration and boosts the Vitamin C’s stability so it works better and with less irritation.

In the same line, there is also the Paula’s Choice Super Boost Eye Cream ($55CAD/$39USD). Because your eyes are so much more sensitive than the rest of your face, this eye cream only contains 5% Vitamin C to target under-eye dullness and improve discoloration and firmness with the help of peptides. Hyaluronic Acid is also included in the formula to hydrate and plump fine lines and under-eye bags. Lastly, Zerumbone, an ingredient found in ginger extract, targets and reduces the causes of dark circles. And I absolutely love the texture of this eye cream as well. It’s a super lightweight, creamy texture that absorbs effortlessly into the skin.

The last Vitamin C product I wanted to feature is the lowest dosage in this post. Because it’s a cleanser, the Rodial Vit C Brightening Cleanser ($65CAD/$49USD) contains a light blend of brightening vitamin C and fruit AHAs. This combo is perfect for giving your skin that brightening boost, while exfoliating the skin and tightening pores for a renewed complexion. It also contains glycolic and lactic acids for a firming and toning effect, plus blood orange water for a refreshing sensation every morning! It’s the perfect cleanser to pair with one of the above serums to soak up every last benefit of Vitamin C.
