Is it just me or did summer pass by way too quickly? You would have thought Summer would take it’s sweet ol’ time passing by with this whole pandemic thang going on but unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case. One minute it’s March and we have a single Covid case in the province and the next it’s September and we’re up to a total of 14,000 cases. Fun times. Really fun times. Just please wear your damn masks and try to stay home as much as possible, that’s all I ask.
But alas, this post isn’t about Covid as I’m trying to serve as a distraction against this pandemic and what’s more of a distraction than this beautiful dress? (Please note that was 100% sarcasm- not even I have the means to distract from the pandemic). I picked up this dress during the dead of summer when I placed a gigantic Zara order (check out my haul here). Zara was having their beloved semi-annual sale and I bought a whopping 27 items. It came in three different shipments and six separate boxes. I wish I was joking, I really was. And although I returned a grand total of 24 items (oops), this was one of the pieces I decided to keep. In other words, the order was worth it.
I don’t know what it is but I have the hardest time buying dresses. I am the ultimate girly girl. I love anything flouncy, flowy, or frilly. So you would think that I have a closet full of dresses. But, sadly, that just isn’t the case. I love dresses but dresses don’t love me. But just as I had come to accept this sad, sad fact of life, I came across the dress that would turn my world upside down (but in a good way- turn world right side up?). To put it simply, this is the dress of my dreams (oh boy Tay, here we go again with the exaggerations). It’s a lightweight, flowy chiffon with a tiny floral print, long sleeves, slight ruffled tiers and a delicate v-neckline adorned with bejeweled buttons.
As soon as I put on this dress, I knew it was instantly going to be given the title of world’s best dress. But why is that? I honestly can’t put my finger on what makes this dress so special. I just love it. I don’t know what it has that all of the dress that came before it didn’t. Maybe that’s what finding your soulmate is like. As soon as they enter your life, you just know they’re the one. You can’t put your finger on why exactly they’re so darn special but you get a feeling around them that you’ve never felt with anyone else. What I’m saying is that this dress is my soulmate. That is all.
