Batiste Waterless Cleansing Foam review

All of my prayers have been answered lately. Actually, that’s a huge over exaggeration. I have a lot of prayers that I would like to be answered. How about we solve this whole COVID-19 fiasco? Stop climate change? Eliminate the budget cuts by the government? Those would all be nice. But alas, the only prayer of mine being answered is that I finally have a non-drying dry shampoo.

That’s a bit of a paradox, isn’t it? Non-drying dry shampoo. It might seem a lil’ contradictory but don’t cha worry. I am hear to share the good news with you. So if you’ve been following along on my haircare journey, you would know I have quite the dry scalp, especially in the winter. Read this post to find out what I have been doing to solve that problem. And because of my dry scalp, I have really avoided using dry shampoo. Come to think of it, I really haven’t used dry shampoo at all for a year or so. And for someone who really doesn’t like washing their hair, that’s been a hard thing to stop using. I’ve really missed the convenience and ease of dry shampoo.

But Batiste is really saving my life (again, an over exaggeration) with this Waterless Cleansing Foam ($9.99USD/$10.99CAD). The one I’ll be sharing on ze blog today is the Cleanse + Hydrate formula, made specifically for dry hair with cactus water to hydrate strands. There is also a Cleanse + Strengthen version with almond oil, a Cleanse + Smooth version with hibiscus root, and a Cleanse + Shine version with coconut milk. Although all four sound equally fascinating, I just knew the hydrating formula would be the one for me.

So how does a wet foam equal non-oily hair? The foam mimics your traditional wet shampoo experience by providing an airy lather massaged into your roots. However, the foam is incredibly quick-drying (less than 60 seconds) and soaks up all the oil from your hair. It feels almost like the foam turns into a powder. Cool, right? Putting a wet foam into already greasy hair might seem like a recipe for disaster, but I can assure you, it actually works! I have tried it on second-day hair and third-day hair and it easily transformed my oily roots into a freshly washed appearance. PLUS. There was no powder residue. It works even better than your traditional powder dry shampoo. All I can say is thank freakin‘ God.

The scent of this one is quite pleasant as well. I have always thought Batiste dry shampoo scents were just a lil’ too strong, but this Cactus Water fragrance is surprisingly light and refreshing. It’s nice, real nice. And therefore, I can’t wait to try out the other scent/formulas because I have a feeling this is going to be the only dry shampoo I’ll ever use again.

Oh I like this idea. It’s waterless shampoo but quick drying. I’m definitely going to check it out
