I’ve said it time and time again. I just love a good cream or liquid blush. And that statement gets even more true when the cold air rolls around and my skin starts to get dry (these Albertan winters are not kind to my skin). I really try to minimize the powder products I’m using and instead switch to liquid or cream alternatives. I (not so) recently did a whole round-up of my favorite cream blushes on ze blog back in 2020 and many of those are still my favorites and get reached for regularly. But, as it’s almost the end of 2024, I’m super excited to introduce a new liquid blush into my collection!

This is the new Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush 12H Blurring Liquid Blush ($56CAD/$39USD) and it’s absolutely stunning. I got mine in the shade #44 Nude Lavalliere which can be described as a dusty nude pink. It’s truly the perfect everyday neutral pink. Now, I must say liquid blushes can sometimes be a little challenging to work with. Sometimes, they’re way too pigmented. Sometimes, they don’t blend out evenly. Or, they’re too patchy. Or, they remove the makeup underneath. Or, they don’t last long enough. What I’m trying to say is that not all cream or liquid blushes are created equally. But luckily, this YSL Make Me Blush Liquid Blush is definitely a winner in my books.

This blush is a described as a liquid-to-powder blush, meaning it goes on the skin as a creamy blush but dries down with a soft, cloud-like, powdery finish. So, what do I love about this blush besides the liquid-to-powder formula? Well, it’s super lightweight making it very easy to blend out. It’s not one of those sticky or thick liquid blushes. And because it has more of a powder finish, it’s also incredibly long-lasting and stays vibrant on my cheeks for the whole day without budging. The applicator is also nice and mess-free. I love to dab the doe-foot applicator onto either a fluffy brush or beauty blender to apply to get that soft, diffused finish. And, if you want a more pigmented finish, you can easily apply more product to build up the colour. Speaking of colour, this blush does come in five other gorgeous shades, including the prettiest lavender (shade #69 Lavender Lust) which I hope will find it’s way into my collection very soon.
