In celebration of the Sephora Spring Savings Event coming up, I thought I would do a dedicated review to one of my favorite sets from Sephora lately! This is the dae Mini Hair Tune Up Tool Box Set ($50USD/$70CAD) and it’s quite possibly the cutest lil’ gift set ever! It contains four of dae’s best selling hair products, including the 90 ml Signature Shampoo ($19CAD value), the 90 ml Signature Conditioner ($19CAD value), the 50 ml Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream ($13.67CAD value), and the 18 gram Fairy Duster Dry Shampoo ($24.60CAD value). Now, if you do the math, the value of this set comes to a grand total of just over $76CAD, nowhere near the $100CAD value it supposedly has (and states on the packaging). The only way it would even come close to that figure, is if somehow the cute little plastic crate that everything is stored in had a value of $25CAD, which is a little ridiculous if you ask me. Nonetheless, if you do get this set on sale during the Spring Savings Event, then the value and savings are definitely there! Plus, I just love the travel sized dry shampoo and styling cream that aren’t available for sale individually, so this set really was a no-brainer for me!
So, let’s put the math aside and look at the actual products! The dae Signature Shampoo and Conditioner are your quintessential hair cleansing products. They’re suitable for any hair type, thickness or length. The shampoo contains Hibiscus Flower Extract to cleanse the scalp gently while helping to shed dead skin cells and stimulate hair follicles. It also contains Aloe Leaf Juice which will give the hair it’s shine and Daisy Extract that has antimicrobial properties to help reduce any flakiness and calm an irritated scalp. The dae Signature Conditioner has that same Daisy Extract as the shampoo, but also has Moringa Leaf Extract to help boost the production of keratin, while moisturizing the hair and scalp. In addition, it contains coconut oil to hydrate the hair, protect from breakage, calm frizz, and detangle! Everything you could want in a lightweight conditioner!
The next product in the set is the dae Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream. I love that this cream is in a lil’ mini 50ml size because this is definitely one hair product I’ll be bringing on my trip to Europe in May. It’s described as a 3-in-1 multi tasking cream that helps to tame frizz and create smooth sleek styles, preps blowouts with shine and moisturizes (thanks to the dragon fruit extract and prickly pear seed oil!), as well as enhances, defines, and shapes natural curls. Now, I definitely don’t have curly hair so I can’t speak to that third item, but the first two benefits of this cream are definitely for me. The slicked-back pony is still an all-time favorite hairstyle of my mine, so this cream comes in handy in helping to get that perfect shiny pony with not a hair out of place! I also love applying a small amount of this cream in my ends before blow drying to hide any frizz or texture in my hair. And, if I’m letting my hair air-dry that day, this cream is also awesome to tame frizz and smooth strands without using any heat! See? Perfect for my European Summer adventure!!
And now, on to the grand finale of the set! The dae Fairy Duster Dry Shampoo! I had been looking for a non-aerosol dry shampoo for my, yup you guessed it, Europe trip, so when I saw that this one came in a such a cute little mini size, I knew it would be the perfect travel essential. I had never used a non-aerosol dry shampoo before this one, but I’m really loving it so far! You just need one or two pumps of the powder for your entire head of hair and it immediately absorbs any excess oil thanks to the Mojave Yucca. I also find that this one adds a TON of volume and body, even more than my typical aerosol can of dry shampoo! My hair was looking thick and freshly washed with just one application! It also smells absolutely amazing with dae’s warm, signature citrus scent. And it contains both prickly pear seed oil as well as cactus flower extract to nourish, soften, and strengthen hair.
