I know I’ve been complaining about the weather all summer but it looks like we’ve FINALLY hit the heatwave we’ve all been waiting for. It’s been a solid 25-30°C every day for the past week and damn, it feels good. I mean, I am constantly in a puddle of sweat everywhere I go (probably shouldn’t have sold our AC unit on Kijiji last week but eh, hindsight is 20/20), but I really can’t complain. It’s so much better than the 60 days of rain we had before this. Who knew Edmonton could turn into such a rainy city? Two summers of straight rain and I’m so over it. I will take sweaty, hot, humid days over gloomy, drizzly days anyday.
I can not believe I haven’t worn this blazer on ze blog before. I got it at the beginning of quarantine when my lovely sweet boyfriend ordered it off Aritzia for me. I have this blazer, the Cherrelle Jacket, in three colours now because it’s just simply the best blazer out there. As I’ve said before, it really is the perfect jacket for dressing up or down. It’s oversized and lightweight and I can dress it down with jeans for an everyday look or pair it with dress pants for a work day (even though I don’t have many of those now that I’m working from home).
And the colour. Let’s just talk about the colour. Pistachio. Pistachio Pudding, to be exact. It is the most beautiful green colour I’ve ever seen. And if I’m being honest, I think this colour is eventually going to overrule all of the mustard yellow in my closet. Yup. That’s how much I love it. And I couldn’t leave my pistachio obsession with just one clothing item, oh no. Instead I had to buy this bodysuit from Aritzia in the pistachio colour as well. This is the Contour Bodysuit and it’s gotten so many positive reviews that I had to try it out. It has a thong cut with a square neckline. But it’s real claim to fame is it’s material. It’s made out of a nylon/spandex high-stretch fabric with a second-skin feel that just sucks you in in all the right places. It’s so dang flattering. And it’s double-lined so it’s not see-through in the slightest. It’s only downfall is that it doesn’t have any snap buttons on the crotch so when you have to use the bathroom, you have to get all the way naked, which is never an enjoyable experience. But it’s cute so I think it’s worth it.
I love the monochromatic look when the top perfectly matches the jacket so I’m secretly (not so secretly) hoping that Aritzia will continue to make this bodysuit in every colour possible so I can buy ones to match every single blazer or jacket I own. That’s not overkill, right? To complete my outfit, I’m wearing my ripped, light-wash Liya jeans from Citizens of Humanity and pair of tortoise shell chain Vans. Have I talked about these Vans on ze blog before? I don’t remember. They’re super cute and I’ve finally broken them in so they’ve reached that ultimate level of comfort. And thus, they’re actually my most worn pair of shoes this summer. I would have never saw that coming.
