It’s a new year so obviously we all need some new skincare to start this year off right! Are we all in agreement? Yes, we are. 2021 will be the best skin year for me yet. I am speaking it into existence. I am determined. I will do everything within my power to make great skin a reality. And Moor Spa is really helping me achieve that. I tried a couple products from Moor Spa several months ago, back in May of 2020 (read the full review here) and I quickly fell in love with the whole brand. They’re a small company that feature all naturally-derived ingredients, including pure organic Moor Mud sourced from Austria. They are also certified by CertClean – North America’s leading certification for safer skincare! And did I mention they’re sustainable? Their packaging is almost fully biodegradable including their packing peanuts! They are made from corn starch and just dissolve in water! How cool is that? It’s strangely satisfying.

And so, because of my love for the brand, I jumped at the chance to try a few more products from Moor Spa. I was sent three products from the brand: the Nourishing Facial Oil, a Hydrating Serum and the Kelp Enzyme Mask; all being absolute perfect for this dry Albertan winter we’re currently experiencing. I have a lot to say about these three skincare saviours so let’s just jump right into the reviews!

It’s probably comes as no surprise that I love a good face mask. And no, we’re not talking about PPE face masks (although I do love my Aritzia linen face masks, but that’s a whole other blog post). We’re talking about skincare face masks right now. Face masks have become such a major part of my skincare routine during this pandemic as way to rid my skin from the oh-so-dreaded mascne (mask acne, duh). And this Kelp Enzyme Mask ($41CAD) from Moor Spa is a regular feature in my weekly mask favourites. It’s great for all skin types and uses fossilized sea kelp, enzymes and a mineral blend to gently exfoliate, tighten and cleanse skin. For those of you unfamiliar with fossilized sea kelp, Kelp Enzyme (otherwise known as Kelzyme) is a fossilized, calcified kelp deposit extracted from an ancient seabed that is roughly 30 million years old (wowza, it really gives a whole new meaning to my blog name, When I’m Older). The ingredients work together to brighten, tighten and lighten the skin! My favorite trio of skincare benefits! And this clay mask dries super fast on the skin and after about 10-15 minutes, I love gently massaging my skin in circular motions with warm water to wash it off. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and refreshed! My pores have never felt better!

You know how I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post how these products are good for this unbearably dry winter we’re having over here in Alberta? Well, that’s where this Nourishing Facial Oil and Hydrating Serum come in. The Hydrating Serum ($36CAD) is my holy grail for my dehydrated skin right now. It contains both hyaluronic acid and kelp extract which are both incredibly hydrating. In addition, Marin Phytoplankton helps to nourish the skin while Vitamin C and Ectoin (fun fact: Ectoin is a synthetic ingredient that serves as an emollient on the skin and helps maintain balanced hydration by maintaining the correct water balance) both help to protect the skin barrier. In addition to the wonderful skin benefits, I also love the texture of this serum! While some hydrating serums tend to be sticky or greasy, this one is lightweight and immediately absorbs into my skin and sits nicely underneath any moisturizer!

The last product we are talking about today is the Nourishing Facial Oil ($25CAD), another mandatory product in any Albertan skincare routine. I actually didn’t start using a face oil until I was 22 or 23 because I didn’t fully understand how crucial they are. Thankfully, I have since seen the light and have used one ever since. This Nourishing Facial Oil from Moor Spa is, like all of the other products featured in today’s post, great for all skin types. It features a blend of rosehip oil, kukui oil as well as argan oil. These three oils are rich in revitalizing nutrients, including fatty acids, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It also has rose otto essential oil so it smells oh-so-good! It provides such a relaxing moment every day and night when patting this oil onto my skin before my serum and moisturizer!
