I don’t know about y’all, but I absolutely love it when my boyfriend takes an interest in skincare. It just only seems right that my significant other would feel as passionate about skincare as I do seeing as I am the ultimate expert on all things beauty (please note the sarcasm). But, in all seriousness, I really do love sharing my love of skincare with my boyfriend. And I’m sure you can guess who was more excited when I received this Refresh & Restore gift set from Jack Black just before Christmas. My boyfriend really did have the time of his life testing out all of the products in this set!
This Jack Black Refresh & Restore set ($39CAD/$25USD) contains three of Jack Black’s most beloved products: the Turbo Wash, the Turbo Body Lotion and the Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser. Now, while I haven’t tried these products and can’t speak to the efficacy of them, what I will say is that my boyfriend absolutely loves them and uses all three every single day. If that doesn’t serve as a glowing recommendation, I don’t know what does!
So, let’s start with the Turbo Wash ($30CAD/$24USD, 295mL). This is truly not just any ordinary body wash. It actually helps to revitalize the immunity system by incorporating rosemary and eucalyptus in the formula to help naturally support immunity by reducing bacteria on the skin’s surface and work as decongestants to aid breathing. Why aren’t women geared body washes this cool?! In addition, juniper berry assists in post-workout recovery, helping to eliminate lactic acid build-up in muscles so you experience less soreness after a particularly grueling workout!
The Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser ($44CAD, 473mL) is a dual-purpose cleanser that combines both the functions of your typical cleanser as well as a toner to remove dirt and oil from the skin. It’s extremely gentle and non-drying to keep skin feeling hydrated and fresh. It contains witch hazel to act as a toner and astringent while oat and coconut help to cleanse the skin. It also includes sage and rosemary to provide antibacterial benefits to help keep any acne at bay. Your skin will also stay soothe thanks to the chamomile and aloe that helps to reduce redness. This cleanser truly does it all!
And last but not least, the set contains the Turbo Body Lotion ($47CAD/$38USD, 473mL). This is a gel-to-lotion body moisturizer that is super lightweight and quickly absorbs into the skin to both nourish and hydrate with the help of prickly pear seed oil. It also contains aloe leaf to calm, soothe and soften the skin, eucalyptus to aid breathing and decongest, while arnica extract works to sooth the body. It is also naturally cooling on the skin which makes it a fantastic lotion to use after a hot shower!
