As much as I don’t want it to be true, Winter is approaching faster than ever. We are nearing the end of October and that can only mean one thing. After Halloween, it’s all game over for us in Edmonton. The snow starts falling, the wind starts blowing and the air gets even dryer (if that’s even possible).

Because of our extreme season changes, I find that it’s so important to change up my skincare in between seasons to try to adapt as much as possible and save my skin from becoming an oily mess in the summer and a flaky, dry mess in the winter. It’s only a matter of time before my skin becomes the latter of that. So, to counteract that, I have started bringing out all the big guns in my skincare collection. Face masks, serums, oils, creams, the whole package. But, one thing that is especially handy to add onto your skincare regime in the winter (or in any season really) is a hydrating face spray. Sure, creams and serums are great but what if you face starts feeling dry in the middle of the day? What then? You can’t just take off your makeup and apply more cream and then put more makeup on. Oh, no. That would not work at all.

So, enter a hydrating facial spray. These are great for keeping at your desk at work, in your purse, on your bedside table, right in reach for when you need a quick spritz of hydration throughout the day. And although I’ve tried a multitude of face sprays throughout my life, I recently got this Hydrating Water Mist ($19CAD) from Jowaé, a French-Korean skincare brand, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. It did win the Elle 2019 Beauty Grand Prix prize afterall.

JOWAÉ was born from an encounter between French and Korean expertise combining the power of a patented active ingredient with Korean medicinal and traditional plants.

The Jowaé Hydrating Water Mist is far from your average water spray. It combines a refreshing Sakura blossom hydrolat with antioxidant Lumiphenols and for improved hydration, this also contains vegetable glycerine. It is quickly absorbed by the skin and it helps my face feel refreshed and hydrated all day long. Never tight, never sticky. The scent of this water is so nice as well. It’s a very light floral without being too overpowering. And the spray is the perfect mist. It coats my face in an even, light layer of hydration. And with 93% of the ingredients being of natural origin with no parabens, mineral oil or silicones, it’s perfect for even the most sensitive of skins!
