There is something about writing about limited edition holiday makeup and skincare products that just gets me in the mood for Christmas. I look forward to seeing the new releases every single year and this year is no different. But it isn’t just about new releases. It’s also all about fun and festive packaging on old favorites and that’s exactly what Kiehl’s is amazing at. Every year they reinvent their packaging for the holidays with a guest artist who designs beautiful artwork for some of their most popular products. This year, Helsinki based designer and illustrator, Janine Rewell put her festive touch on the collection and she couldn’t have done a better job!
The first item in the limited edition packaging collection is the Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment ($26CAD/$22USD). Not only is the packaging super cute with a twist on lid (that won’t magically come loose in your purse) and the fun swirly candy cane colours but this lip balm is absolutely essential for the winter. It’s formulated with Lemon Butter and Coconut Oil so it hydrates up to 12 hours! And the tinted red shade helps your lips look ready for any holiday party. It’s a win-win all around.
The next product, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($94CAD/$75USD) is one of Kiehl’s most popular skincare items. It’s a A nighttime facial oil that visibly restores the appearance of skin with ingredients like Lavender Essential Oil and Evening Primrose Oil. I find my skin is so much firmer and smoother after I use this serum and when I wake up in the morning, I look radiant and healthy. This is also smells amazing (because of the lavender) so that’s a big bonus right there!
Ahhh and the Kiehl’s Creme de Corps ($41CAD/$30USD). Do I even have to say anything about this one? If you don’t know about this product then you are clearly living under a rock. Clearly. The Creme de Corps is both my mom and I’s favorite body lotion (so y’all already know what she’s getting in her stocking this year). It’s made with with Cocoa Butter, Squalane and Beta-Carotene so it’s ultra moisturizing but I also love that it’s quick to absorb and doesn’t feel greasy on the skin at all! If you’re craving something thicker, they also have the Creme de Corps Body Butter ($51CAD/$39USD) in the festive limited edition packaging as well!
The next (and final) products in this limited edition holiday collection are these Kiehl’s Scented Scrub Soaps ($15CAD/$12USD each). These smell divine and come in three scents to choose from- lavender, grapefruit and coriander. And I love that they aren’t just your regular bar of soap. Because who wants a plain bar of soap for Christmas? Not me, that’s for sure. That’s almost as bad as getting coal in your stocking. Almost. So you must be wondering what makes these more than your average bar of soap. Well, they have ground jojoba seeds in them so they exfoliate your skin as you rub the bar over your body, making your skin more susceptible to the lotions and creams you put on when you get out of the shower. And it’s always good to exfoliate before you shave as well to prevent any ingrown hairs and to get a close shave! So basically you’re getting a 2-in-1 with these bars. You get to be clean and exfoliated. What more could you want?
