I am super excited to be talking about a brand that I have never talked about on ze blog before. I had always seen Lierac on the shelves at Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale and while it intrigued me, I had never given it a try until now. But their two new products in the Sébologie line couldn’t be more perfect for me. Acne who? Acne bye.
Usually I try to put a little bit more fluff into my writing in these blog posts but with these two products, we’re going to get right to the point. Let’s start with the Lierac Sébologie Resurfacing Double Concentrate ($49CAD). This is probably the coolest skincare product I’ve tried in a long, long time. Similar to the Clarins Double Serum or the Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector & Optimizer or the Guerlain Abeille Royale Double R, it has a double applicator that contains a duo of two different serums – one for the morning and one to apply at night. But unlike the Clarins, Guerlain or Clinique Serum, instead of the formula being pumped out at the same time, you can pump out the two different sides at different times of the day. It’s like two serums in one container. Very handy.
So, this Lierac Double Concentrate contains two different serums to help persistent imperfections AKA pesky pimples that linger long after their welcome. I have been battling a sort of hormonal acne for years now. The rest of my skin is pretty clear but I always get little breakouts along my chin and jawline. And nothing seems to do much help. That’s why this serum is such a genius idea for people like me. The day side is a sheer lotion-serum that has a powdery feel (because of the added bamboo powder) that helps to mattify the skin while also keeping it moisturized and hydrated. It also contains anti-pollution ingredients to protect your skin while you’re out and about. The night side is more of a gel-serum that helps to refine pores and resurface the skin with glycolic acid. Both sides contain two active ingredients that accelerates cell renewal. One is zinc gluconate that has sebum-regulating (AKA mattifying), antibacterial and healing properties while the other is salicylic acid that helps to reduce the buildup of dead skin cells and regulate cell renewal.
The other product in the Sébologie line is the Lierac Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask ($35CAD). This mask is designed for combination to oily skin. Like the Lierac Double Concentrate, it also contains the core ingredients in the Sébologie range – zinc gluconate and salicylic acid – to regulate sebum (oil) production, refine dilated pores, and fade imperfections and marks. In addition to these core ingredients, the mask also contains green and white clays that have exceptional absorbent properties and are able to draw out excess sebum. It also contains rice powder to leave the skin perfectly matte. My skin feels so clean and purified after I wash off this mask! But my favorite thing about this mask is probably the plant-derived micro-granules (which means they will biodegrade easily unlike the plastic beads in some exfoliators). The scrubby particles (very technical description lol) help to gently deep clean my pores as well as getting rid of any dead skin cells. All in all, it’s a great mask!

I really like the idea of having a day and night version of a product in one tube, that makes it a lot simpler and takes up less space. Seems like a neat brand

ooooh, these both sound good! Love the idea of the dual skin – and I have the same, hormonal acne problem, so these sound like they would work so well for me!

The Double Concentrate is so cool, I love that the same bottle contains a lotion-serum for the morning and a gel-serum for the night! Did it help reduce the acne on your jawline?
