Mane Ivy Hair Elixir Serum

I gotta be honest with y’all. I had the worst haircut of my life a couple of weeks ago. I made the mistake of trying a new salon in Edmonton (actually, Sherwood Park to be exact) and let me tell you: I regret everything. I shouldn’t have fallen for their cutesy aesthetic. I shouldn’t have left my tried and true salon. Unfortunately, my risk of switching salons did not pay off.

But, even though I hate my haircut, I don’t have to hate my hair because Mane Ivy (not at all affiliated with my disastrous haircut) sent me a couple of their products to try and I’ve been loving using them on my hair. Mane Ivy is a haircare brand based in Arizona that is so fun and playful (especially with their sexy innuendos on all of their packaging- take a closer peek at some of these photos). They have a relatively small lineup of products which I actually appreciate because I feel like they’re very intentional with what they develop instead of just having a bunch of products that aren’t anything special.

So, let’s actually start talking about the products. The first is this Mane Ivy Daily Wood Hair Brush ($55CAD/$39USD). It’s a super unique hairbrush in that it has these super long stainless steel bristles with no balls at the tips of the bristles. Upon first glance, you would think it would be a painful experience brushing this along your scalp, but it’s actually super gentle and provides amazing scalp stimulation to help with hair growth. The stainless steel bristles are also supposed to be anti-static to help produce frizz-free hair, however I do find my hair still gets a little staticy. But that’s most likely just due to the cold and dry Albertan winter climate. It would take a miracle to get rid of static this time of year. The actual brush is really nice too- not just the bristles! The wood handle is made out of this carbonized ash that’s durable and gorgeous.

And then I got to try the Mane Ivy Total Package Hair Elixir Serum ($55CAD/$39USD). Before we even talk about the benefits, we have to talk about the scent of this serum. There’s this very specific scent that my fiancé and I love – I would say a combination of sandalwood and something else, but I’m scent expert. We first smelled a variation of it at a resort in Mexico and ever since then, we have bought any and every product that remotely smells like it. So, you can imagine my delight when I tested out this Total Package Serum and noticed it smelled exactly like that other scent. I was ecstatic. I now look forward to putting this serum in my hair everyday just so I can smell it. But, it also has insane benefits too. You can apply one pump to dry or damp hair (I like to do both) and it provides moisture, heat protectant properties, and it gets rid of any frizz while smoothing the ends of your hair. It makes my hair look so shiny and bouncy (despite the bad haircut). I just love an all-in-one product.
