Can you believe it’s been over nine years since I first tried out MaskerAide Beauty when I reviewed it on ze blog back in 2014 (check it out here)?! I was nineteen and just a lil’ baby, but boy oh boy, did I love my MaskerAide face masks. And now, nine years later, I’m still digging their sheet masks, but their brand has had a little bit of a glow up. They still make the sheet masks we all know and love, but have also added a few more new and cool products to their lineup which I will be reviewing today! Hurrah!
Because they’re known for their sheet masks, let’s talk about those first. I was sent both the Detoxifying Sheet Mask as well as the Nourishing Sheet Mask. The Detoxifying Mask ($6CAD) is infused with cactus extract, lemon and geranium oil to help detox and clarify the skin. It also minimizes both pores and oil while gently cleansing and exfoliating the skin. If you need something a bit more moisturizing, there’s also the Nourishing Mask ($6CAD) which contains lavender oil, hyaluronic acid, and shea butter. These ingredients are deeply moisturizing and nourishing while also helping to relax both the body and the skin. It’s also worth mentioning both sheet masks are 100% biodegradable because they are made from Tencel, a natural cellulose found in wood pulp from sustainable eucalyptus tree farms.
But MaskerAide has recently branched out in their face mask offering and also offer single use jelly and clay masks! The Detoxifying Clay Mask ($8CAD) contains three little sachets for three uses. I love that they’re individually packaged so you know the mask isn’t going to dry up in between uses! This clay mask contains matcha with natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, kaolin to help fight signs of aging and peach and lychee extracts to help hydrate and even your skin tone. It’s the perfect mask for more normal to oily skin. But, if your skin is more on the dry side, there’s also the Pineapple Brightening Jelly Mask ($8CAD) to smooth and hydrate your skin with the help of pineapple, coconut water, and sweet cherry extract. It also contains niacinamide to improve skin elasticity and brightness.
Speaking of masks, Maskeraide Beauty also launched a Tinted Lip Mask ($16CAD). Let me just start off by saying I love this one! It’s a gorgeous berry colour while also hydrating and nourishing chapped lips because of the blueberry antioxidants it contains. The shea butter in it also provides a great deal of nourishment while hyaluronic acid helps reduce any fine lines in the lip area. And I absolutely love that it’s in a tube applicator! I always dread digging my fingers into a lip mask jar, so this one is quite a bit more convenient for me. And convenience always matters!
Next is the MaskerAide Nourishing Milk Essence ($19CAD). I absolutely love anything lavender scented so that was a huge selling point to me, but the lavender oil isn’t just in the formula for it’s scent! It also lessens the appearance of blemishes, evens out skin tone and reduces the appearance of wrinkles in addition to killing any bacteria on the skin! It also contains milk protein to soften and plump the skin while reducing any irritation, making this essence lovely for anyone with normal, dry, or sensitive skin! This serum is about to be my holy grail whenever my skin is feeling particularly dry or just in need of a little replenishment.
We’re almost at the end of this post, but we can’t end it without talking about these pimple patches. MaskerAide came out with two new sets of Anti-Blemish Patches for daytime ($18CAD) and nighttime ($20CAD). I absolutely love pimple patches and use them religiously. The daytime Anti-Blemish Patches gelp to aid in the healing process of acne while also helping to exfoliate the spot, break down any sebum and increase cell turnover with the help of 0.27% salicylic acid. It also contains adenosine and allantoin to provide healing powers and soothe the breakout. The nighttime Hydrocolloid Anti-Blemish Patches are just as effective, but also focuses on extracting sebum from the skin while penetrating deeply to remove all traces of oil and debris. They have a special non-slip grip for hours of overnight adhesion.
