I’ve been working from home now for just under 7 months. Seven months. Seven. Whole. Months. A lot can happen in 7 months– and a lot did happen in 7 months, but that isn’t what this post is about. Instead, this post is about how much I miss my office and my coworkers and campus. Oh yeah, and it’s about my outfit too (obviously). At the start of the pandemic, I was so desperate to work from home. I thought it would be the best thing ever. I’d get to be in the comfort of my home, I could wake up 5 minutes before I started work, I could go makeup-less every single day and sweatpants would finally be considered business casual. What’s not to love?! All of that. I don’t love any of that. Who knew that I could get so sick of my own house?!
The reason that I’m going off on this tangent is that I got to visit campus today. I had a couple of work things to get done there and it was so nice to see all the leaves changing colour and visit my office (although all of my office plants are dead sadly). And while I was there, I was wearing a mask of course. And it got me thinking- I never wear a mask in my outfit photos. But in reality, I am always wearing a mask when I go out in public. Always. Usually my photo locations are out in parks or ravines where there’s not a any other people around so I forgo wearing a mask as part of my outfit. However, since I was shooting these pictures on campus, I figured it was only fitting to show y’all what I was actually wearing all day. And that includes my mask.
I feel like by this point in time, seven months into the pandemic, we probably all have our favorite masks figured out. And I sure do. The only masks that I wear anymore, besides those disposable paper ones (I always keep a pack of those in my car incase I, or a friend, forgets a mask), are these linen masks from Aritzia. So why do I like these masks so much? Well, they’re 100% linen so they’re both gentle on the skin and breathable. I find my mascne (mask-ne?) is significantly more tame with these masks. They also have adjustable elastic ear loops and they fit my tiny face relatively well. Plus, they come in the cutest colours to match all my outfits. I have a mustard yellow, a warm brown, and this one, a light beige. I also used to have a green one that I loved dearly, but alas that one is no longer in my possession (Alan, if you’re reading this, please return 🤪). Now, if they could just make a pistachio mask, that would be very ideal. Wow, I never thought I would talk about my favorite face masks (that aren’t skincare masks) in a blog post before but alas, here we are.
The rest of my outfit consists of my favorite pistachio green blazer (the Cherrelle blazer from Aritzia). Now, I know I’ve probably exhausted you all with my love of pistachio in previous outfit posts on ze blog so I will save you from all that this time around. But please note that pistachio green is still my favorite colour and I love it very very much. I paired a simple white tee underneath my blazer as well as added a pair of wide leg black dress pants from Aritzia. I had really missed my business casual outfits so it felt good to put on an actual pair of pants for my visit to campus instead of a pair of leggings or sweatpants. And last but not least, I wore my favorite Nike Air Force Ones that have funky mustard yellow laces and a reflective tongue. They’re too cute.

This is the normal size! However, I also have some of the petite linen masks from Aritzia and I find they fit my face a lot better 🙂
